Danny's POV
I comb my fingers through the sand and watch each grain melt back onto the ground. I had kicked off my shoes and was sitting beside the others.
We sit quietly just trying to soak in the moment as much as we could before we all had to say goodbye the next morning.
I lift up the camera that hung from my neck, careful for it to not touch the sand, and settle it into my palms. I take a few more shots from my seat until my eyes settle on Ben and Susan. They were walking side by side barefoot along the shore. Ben waved his hands in a gesture and Susan nodded with a grin on her face. I could feel the love they had for each other just by the way they looked at one another. Watching them was pure joy. From behind the camera, I capture their happy silhouettes with the sun and ocean behind them. I couldn't help but let out a squeal when I see Ben taking her hand in his.
"OhHH MY GOD YOU GUYS LOOK," I shout. The other crew members turned to where I was looking, and they all shared my feelings of excitement. We would always talk about Ben and Susan as the perfect couple, and we all secretly wished that one of them would make the first move.
I pointed my camera at them once more to capture the moment. Susan looked down at their hands only to lean into his arm with a smile. They stopped walking for a brief moment to talk, and I couldn't believe my eyes as their faces inched closer together.
It was like watching a cliche movie scene in real life. I could feel all of us holding in our breaths.
Ben lets go of her hand only to cup her face. With the sun behind them, the shadows of their lips melded into one another. Her hands run up from his chest to his neck.
We all looked at each other with shock and disbelief of what just happened. It wasn't until a few seconds later where we all erupted with cheers and claps from our seats on the sand. Susan and Ben's trance broke as they looked over at the commotion. Their smiles only grew when they realized we were all watching their romantic moment together. Susan buries her face in his chest with embarrassment and takes his hand to pull him further from our loud celebration. Ben follows her lead with no objection, but he turns to us for a brief second to pump his fist in the air in a silent victory.
My mind was swirling with glee finally seeing Susan and Ben together. I remember watching their friendship grow over the past few months.
They fell in love unknowingly.

I fiddled with the hotel key in my hand trying to slide the card back into it's paper slot.
Room 2208.
I slip the key into my back pocket and begin to gather my belongings beside the lounge area.
"Hey Danny?" Susan asks from beside me.
"Hmmmm?"
"I hope you don't mind me bailing, but I was going to stay in Ben's room tonight. We're planning on waking up early and I don't want to wake you with my alarm so-"
"It's alright," I chuckled.
She gives me an apologetic smile, but I wave it off.
"It'll probably be nice to spend time with him without any of us barging in anyways," I wink.
Her cheeks turn a slight shade of pink as she glances at Ben standing at the reception desk.
"Are you sure? I can always-"
"Susannnnnn, I'm fineeeee. A night with room service all by myself is not the worst thing in the world," I reassure her.
She rolls her eyes and gives me a hug goodnight.
I roll my suitcase over to the elevator just as it opens, and I press for the second floor. A little ding! went off, and I followed the gold colored plaques pointing to the different room numbers.
When I reach my room, I immediately jump into the shower and get settled in for the night. Tomorrow is going to be a long flight to Australia, so tonight was my chance to catch up on a good night's sleep.
