We all know what's coming. But I'm still talking about this.
Imagine this:
You have a child (your OC), what do you want to do? Make them happy of course! So why the fuck so these 'authors' make them suffer? So I can pity them?!
I won't pity them. At all.
Yes. We all suffer, but damn, make your OC suffer so the reader can pity them? That's just cruel!
Don't give me the 'but... They aren't real...' Bullshit because I don't care if they're real or not, making a character suffer for no reason makes you seem lazy, and makes people who suffer angry. Because these people actually suffer for a reason!
Dammit! Be creative for once!
Here's a list of what not to do:
-Don't make them depressed because of 'plot'
-Don't make them cut for no reason.
-Don't make the parents abusive because of alcohol, alcohol has many side effects (it depends on the person) and being aggressive is not the only side effect. Heck, there's people who aren't even aggressive when they're drunk! Be creative, and make them abusive for an actual reason! If a character has abusive parents because of alcohol, I'm leaving the book.Eh, I'm pissed now. If you excuse me I'm going to watch anime.
Peace.
