The height

I'm not an expert in genetics, but I'm pretty sure not all girls are short and all boys are tall.

For some reason, the girl is always somewhere in between 5'3 to 5'6. And they're, according to the story, seventeen and in senior year (like always...). Why can't a girl be tall for once? Like, 5'10 or 5'11 or something.

And for some reason, the boy is always 6'5 or 6'3. Or somewhere above that. Why can't he be short? Why can't he be 5'6 or something? Why is he always above 6'0? It annoys me so much.

Hell, why can't they both be the same height? Or the average height? Is it too realistic?

I know I'm short and should "relate" to this "main" character. But it's just not realistic enough for me to relate. Sure I related to first time I read about a short character, but it became so popular and literally everywhere it became annoying and cliché.

Also, people seem not to know that being tall has its problems and being short has its problems as well. But they make it seem like those problems don't exist and aren't even relevant!

So note: make your story is realistic. I'm sure there's many tall girls and short boys out there that would like to relate to the character. Don't go along with clichés... please!
