Average [Ayano x Budo]

Chapter 6 // The Goddess of Common Sense

We paused silently for a minute, just looking into each other's eyes.

"So.. That just happened.." I laughed awkwardly.
"Yeah. On a Thursday too."
"Yeah." I put my hand against her face.
"What are you doing?" she put her hand on mine.
"Something I probably shouldn't." I smiled sadly.
"We should get to class." She put her remaining hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah.. we should." I leaned a little closer to her, "But I just killed someone, so clearly I don't do what I should do."
"Budo.."
"Relax, I'm not gonna do anything." I put my face against hers. "I just want to stay here with you for a while." I kissed her on the cheek.
"It's not like you to skip class." she rested her head against my shoulder.
"Yeah I guess you're right." I sighed, moving my forehead against hers. "I'm in a weird mood Ayano."
"I can tell." she smirked, "Your mind's just a little messed up right now."
"Mhm." I paused, "I'm not really.. in control. I guess." I started moving towards her.
"Hey." she whispered, "Are you okay?" I moved closer once again until our lips had touched, but not as a kiss.
"I don't think I am honestly. This isn't really something I would do normally."
"I know Budo."
"Am I making you uncomfortable?"
"I haven't moved away."
"You might though." I could feel her breath against my skin. It was warm and hadn't changed this entire time.
"Might I?" she asked.
"Yeah. Why haven't you yet?" I asked.
"I'm intrigued as you would say."
"Is that right?" I leaned in and kissed her slowly against the wall. As she said, she didn't pull away. I did. I ended the kiss abruptly and moved to her ear.
"So first I kill your rival for you and then you lead me on? Bad girl."

"W-What?"

"Don't act dumb with me." I stepped away from her. "I thought she was bullying you.. I thought she did something horrible to you. You just hated her because she liked Taro." I said angrily.
"Budo wait you don't under-"
"NO. You're going to listen to me, and you're going to listen well." I started to get a little more threatening. "I just killed an innocent girl because you had the same crush, and then you allow me to kiss you? Are you serious Ayano!?"
"Leave Taro OUT of this! I didn't tell you to kill Amai, I pulled you away from her because I wanted to protect you! You came running back in here and started fucking strangling her, so don't you DARE try and blame me for that!"
"You are UNBELIEVABLE. I just wanted an average fucking life, not to be lallying around in fucking lala land with a cute murderer!"
"Now is NOT the time to flirt with me."
"Oh well please GODDESS OF COMMON SENSE, enlighten me on what it's time to do right now!!" I whisper shouted sarcastically.
"Why ask me!? You're the one that tried to make out with me and then turned this into a fucking shouting match!!"
"You are so impossible to hate." I banged my head against the wall.
"Look, this is stupid. Can't we just forget about it and move on?"
"Well excuse me if I feel a little betrayed." I sighed.
"Budo, I'm sorry. How can I make it up to you?"
"I-I don't know Ayano. I just need some time to think. Cause y'know, kinda feel a little heart broken right now." I said in a stupid tone of voice, "Not really where I imagined this going if I'm honest."

"Wait.. you don't?"

"Yes Ayano. I do." I sat down at the table on the other side of the room. "Straight to the point. Honest. That's what you like, yes?"

"But why?"

"Why? You're really.. okay. First of all, you were so different from everyone else. I guess we know why now.. You didn't shower me with compliments. You didn't try to be my friend, it just happened. I felt like I was closer to you after a few hours than anyone else who I have known for years. You're just so easy to talk to. You don't judge me. Look, why am I even saying this? It's not like it'll change anythi-"

I was stopped by Ayano sitting on my lap and kissing me abruptly. This time, neither of us pulled away.

"We're gonna be in so much shit with the teachers."
"Do I look like I care?" she continued to kiss me.
"Why do you continue to lead me on like this?"
"You don't get it, do you?" she sighed, "You really are an idiot."
"If you're gonna tease me with something I can't have then you could at least not insult me."
"Budo."
"Mhm?"
"I like you too." she whispered in my ear, hugging me tightly.

"What about Taro?" I asked, hugging her back.
"He doesn't even know I exist. He's a waste of time."
"In that case.." I said hugging her tighter and tighter, "You're all mine."

Uhh, Budo, this isn't even close to what happened.

Budo, don't lie to them.

Okay okay fine.

"Not really where I imagined this going to be honest." I started walking towards the door.
"I warned you Budo! I'm a loner for a reason. I'm a loner because I know I'll lose everyone. And now I've lost you."

I wish I would have said something else. Anything else. I wish I would have swept her up and kissed her and hugged her and told her that she hadn't lost me. I wish.

"Well maybe you should have thought about that before you ripped my heart out and stepped on it." I slammed the door and headed to class. That's what really happened.
