The library.

I know that Elijah is scared of Baby because he stands farther away from me as she leads me to the library. I probably don't need her in order to get there, but everyone loves to see her and I love to bring her.

She is like a child and I am like a mother who likes to show off.

As soon as we get inside the library I ask Ray, one of the librarians (stout, energetic voice, very flamboyant and doesn't care if anyone knows it, brave) for my CD. The CD is a collection of all of my favorite songs from all time frames. They are also all the songs that my mother hates because some of them are too 'vulgar'.

Perhaps that's why I love them so much, it would make sense.

I explain to Elijah that I have so many copies of these because my mother knows I have them so she takes them from me but little does she know that I have a stack of the same exact CD with the same 12 songs on there.

I walk Baby and Elijah into the special room with the music player and Baby does her part by turning all the lights on before Elijah does. I can't tell if it is because he got out of her way because she was scared or because she was too fast for him.

Either way she does it.

I take my time and show Elijah a couple seconds of each song and he claimed to not know any of them.

The first three songs on the CD are from the 60's, the next three are from the 70's (my favorite), the 80's, and then the last three are my all time favorite songs.

This is how the playlist went:

1. I got you babe- Sonny and Cher
2. Sweet Caroline- Neil Diamond
3. My Way- Frank Sinatra
4. Rocket Man- Elton John
5. Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen
6. Half-Breed- Cher
7. Under Pressure- Queen and David Bowie
8. Love is a battlefield- Pat Benatar
9. Video killed the radio star- The Buggles
10. You're the one that I want- John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John
11. Purple Rain- Prince
12. Rhiannon (live 1982)- Stevie Nicks

Each song had significance to me in someway or another.

All I know is that by the end of listening to all the songs in that order I am in tears. Tears that refresh my body, clear my soul, help me see.

Elijah says he just hears sappy songs for most of them.

That's only because he doesn't hear the music yet, but he will.

He will.
