Skylar Williams

3 Months later

I hit my alarm clock and sighed preparing for another stressful day of work. I got up and showered making sure to dress in my normal work uniform.

After doing my normal routine, I drove to work not picking up Tori and D because I didnt feel like it and they weren't even home. I clocked into work and started my shift.

"Hello, how may I help you?" I asked the customer looking at the register.

"Wassup ma. I'll have a caramel latte with a side of you." The person said.

I looked up smiling recognizing the voice.

"What are you doing here August?" I was cheesing at this point.

"I can't come see my baby at work?"

I smiled. "You can, but what size latte would you like?"

"Large."

I made his latte and gave him it.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked me.

I signaled to Tori to cover me while I take a break and walked from behind the counter sitting at a table with August.

"Wassup?" I asked him.

"You ready to tell me why you was acting like that when we kissed the first time?"

I sighed. "Yeah. Can I tell you later though? This isn't really the time for that."

He looked at me. "Aight. But I'm going on tour in a few months and I want you to come."

I shook my head. "August, I can't. I have to work. Do you know how much pay that I would be missing if I went with you?"

"Yeah, but do you know how much I would be missing you if you didn't come with me?"

I sighed. "But I need that money."

"Baby, I'll give you the money back. I just wanna be with you."

I sighed. "I'll think about it."

Jessica, my boss, came out and called me. "Skylar! "

August sighed. "Bae please."

"I gotta go August. My boss is gonna kill me."

Jessica called me again.

I stood up and kissed August's lips, but he didn't kiss back.

"Come by when I get off ok?" I told him.

"Whatever." He said dryly.

I laughed and shook my head walking back to my register because he was mad. Then, I started thinking. I don't wanna tell August about Julius. I don't want anyone to know. I don't even wanna be reminded of that.

A few hours later, I was at my last customer until I went home.

"Hello, how may I help you?" I asked politely.

"Hello beautiful, I'd like a small coffee."

I was caught off guard by the word beautiful. I mean, I just wasn't expecting that to be the first thing out of a customer's mouth.

I brewed his coffee and handed him it.

"That'll be $3.27." He handed me $4.00, but one of the dollars were ripped. "Sir, this dollar is ripped." I told him.

He handed me a five dollar bill and I handed him back his money.

He held the ripped dollar. "No you keep it. " He said smirking before walking away.
