I walked over to where August, Raven and Khalil. I put on a fake smile and when August saw me, he looked uncomfortable.
His girlfriend smiled at me. "Hello, I'm Raven."
I put on a fake smile again. "I'm Skylar."
She held out her hand for me to shake but I didnt. She looked confused as to why I didn't shake her hand, but I just took my attention off of her and put it on August. It was weird because all of this was happening so fast. I just saw him this morning.
"Hey Aug." I said smirking.
He looked at me trying to figure out why I was smirking. "Hey sky..."
"Yall know eachother?" Raven and Khalil asked at the same time. I .looked at August and nodded.
"Yeah.."
"How?" Raven asked.
"He's my ex..."
August was just staring at me. He looked angry and he kept looking Khalil up and down.
Raven looked shocked and Khalil looked pissed off. I grabbed Khalil's hand and waved bye to Raven and August then walked to his car.
I got in the car and we drove in silence until he pulled up to my house.
"Are you ok?" I asked him knowing the answer. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just didnt wanna bring up my personal relationship with him."
He nodded and looked at me. "It's good ma. I'm just pissed because I'm feeling you but Ion know how Im 'pose to compete with August Alsina. He got money, something Ion really got. He famous, but i'm just alil hood nigga."
"Don't even worry about that. You're already treating me better than August ever did." I reassured him with a smile.
He smiled. "Aight ma. I guess this is goodnight."
I looked at him and nodded. "Goodnight. Thank you for everything." I leaned over to hug him and I kissed his cheek. He then kissed my forehead, something August always did.
I smiled and got out the car and going into my house.
6 months later

I was at work, and it was almost time for me to get off. There wasn't alot of customers today for some reason. I was just standing behind the counter waiting for the clock to hit 5:30. Finally, it was time and I clocked out. I'm upset because it's my birthday and I had work but whatever. When I walked out, Khalil pulled up in his black range rover which was newly added to his collection of cars. i smiled and got into the passenger side. We've been dating ever since the movies. I leaned over and kissed him on the lips. "Hey baby."
He smiled and drove off to my house. "Wassup ma? How's the birthday girl?"
I sighed. "I'm fine. Glad I'm off work."
He pulled up to my apartment and put the car in park.
He pulled a couple bags from the back seat and handed them to me. Some were Gucci, one was From Armani Exchange and another from Christian Louboutin. I smiled but he wasn't finished. He pulled out a wad of cash and gave me $500. I looked at him like he was crazy. However, he already knew what I was going to say. "Look, take that money and get ya nails done and hair laid or whateva else yall females do. Tori will be here to come get you in a few to take you. When you come back, put what's in them bags on. Be ready by 8 cause I'm coming to get you. D should be over after you come back from with Tori. Enjoy yourself bae."
I smiled. He is too sweet. He spoils me. And I know yall wondering where he get all this money from. He used to be slangin but he stopped and actually got a job as a music producer and ironically started producing August's music. I haven't spoken to August since that movie altercation. I just smiled at Khalil, gave him a good kiss then got out the car and walked to my apartment. I changed into some jeans and a plain white tee. I put on sandals since I'm getting my toes done. Then Tori beeped the horn so I ran outside.
"Yo, you play all day saying you forgot my birthday." I said as I got into her car because she acted clueless this morning.
"You know I aint forget about you boo. Now, lets get this hair laid for the godss! How much he give you?" "Five." She looked at me like I was crazy then continued driving. "Who the hell gon' get they hair did with $5. This nigga!"
I laughed. "Nah. he gave me five hundred like nails and hair costs that much."
She nodded. "He got that money baby money baby money baeee B" She sang.
I laughed as we pulled up to the hair salon.
When we finished, it was 7pm. I ended up getting a brazilian weave put in. It was something new and different for me. They curled it and made it reddish brown. I looked so different and barely recognized myself.
I got long ombre acryllic tips; something simple.
Tori drove me home and I proceeded to get ready. After I showered, D arrived. I put on my Armani exchange bodycon dress and louboutin heels and D bought someone to do my makeup.
"He got you something else honey." I smiled because there's more. D started making kissy noises and I looked at him like he was crazy. A few moments after, a yorkie ran in the room and I smiled widely. My new dog is Mocha but D got one of his friends to pet sit while I'm out with Khalil. when my makeup was finished, I put my things in my Gucci purse he bought me and at like 8:30, I was finally ready. I thanked D and the makeup girl Chanel then left my apartment to see Khalil already there waiting for me. He looked fine. He had on some cargo pants, a polo shirt and Concord 11's with a stud in his ear. I smiled and hugged him as he stood leaning on his car. "Thank you for everything baby." I said kissing him. He smiled then opened the door for me then got in the drivers side. "You look beautiful bae." He told me. I smiled, something I've been doing alot lately. "It's all because of you."
"Where we going?" I asked him. "It's a surprise."
After about 45 minutes of driving, he told me to close my eyes and led me out the car. When I got to finally open my eyes, I was in a club and all my friends and even family was there. I kissed and hugged him. "Thank you baby." He smiled. "I had to make sure you had the best birthday even though you have work." I smiled. "Thank you so much. I love you." I was beaming as he smiled. "I love you too."
I walked in as Rich Homie Quan's Walk thru filled the air. This was my turn up song so I started singing along.
"I BE FEELIN LIKE THE MAN WHEN I WALK THRU. AINT STUNTIN WHAT YOU SAYING WHEN I WALK THRU. I GOT ALL THESE HOES STARING WHEN I WALK THRU. I DONE MADE A FEW BANDS ON MY WALK THRU. NOW WATCH ME WATCH ME NOW WATCH ME WALK THRU!" I yelled and started turning up. Then, B Smyth's Twerkoholic came on. I started to wine and tick my hips to the beat. This wining slowly turned into a slow twerk then back to wining on Khalil, who started singing the words in my ear. I smiled and kept doing what I was doing. He's a good singer too. I smiled. This is a great 21st birthday.
I was at the bar and getting me a drink. I was gonna get a margarita drink. I sipped my drink and people came up to me telling me Happy Birthday and saying how nice I looked. I smiled and continued sipping. Then, I heard a familiar voice.
"Excuse me ma. Can you tell me what you sipping. I dont know what to get. "
I turned around and saw August. He looked good but I only had eyes for khalil. August must not have recognized me.
I just acted normal. "Mango margarita."
He stared at me for a minute. "You look real familiar."
I laughed. "August. It's Skylar. I mean, it is my birthday."
He looked shocked then smiled. "Damn Sky. You look amazing. Happy birthday ma."
"Thanks. What are you doing here? Where's Raven?"
"I came to get away from Rae for a while. She be having pregnancy moodswings and shit. Im glad she's due next week."
I furrowed my eyebrows. How you gonna be out partying while your pregnant girlfriend at home. Plus she's due next week.
"Wow." he looked me up and down and bit his lip. "Well, I should go before she wake up to pee and She see im not there. Stay in touch with me tho ma." I nodded before giving him a quick hug and he walked off. Shortly after, D and Tori came over. "What the hell was that?" Tori asked.
"What?" I asked confused. "That hug between you and August." She replied.
"Yeah, he was staring at you like you was a walking hamburger. I can't tell you what he look like with his fine ass cause I might get in trouble." D laughed at his own joke and I gave him a stank face. "You nasty. And it was nothing. He was just making conversation. Nothing more."
"Mhhmm. Conversation about how he wanna fuck you huh?" D said catching me off guard. "ok, you need to stop. We talked about Raven and their baby. Relax." I said.
Khalil made his way over to us. "Bae, I got something else for you."
I smiled. What more can he get me? He led me outside to a white range rover which I'm guessing is his.
I looked at him. "Where we going now?" I asked getting into the passenger side. it smelled brand new and It was a little too feminine in here for him.
He chuckled. "What you getting in the passenger side for? This ya car."
I gave a confused look. "Whatchuu mean?"
"I bought this car for you. Look. " He said helping me out the car to look at the plates that said Skylar.
I smiled and hugged him for the thousandth time this day. "Baby. Why are you so good to me?"
"Because you deserve it." I smiled and he pulled out an envelope and handed it to me along with the car keys. I opened the envelope and read a letter from Spelman.

Dear Ms. Skylar Williams,

We are proud to welcome you into our university. We've received countless Recommendations for you, so we've awarded you a full ride scholarship. We're happy to welcome you next semester.

I finished reading the letter and my eyes were watery. He was doing all this for me and I aint even give him none. I couldn't help but cry and hug him. he wiped my tears and kissed me.
I was speechless. He pulled out one last bag which had a rolly in with diamonds around it. I smiled and put it on my wrist. Wow, he really outdid himself. I was honestly surprised. He bought all this and He aint even hit. I smiled and went back to partying.
Good girls get diamonds.
