Six hours before......
"Jay, your going to the pack house of the she-alpha." I tell my younger brother, as we drive down the road to the border between her pack and my own.
"No way! That bitch will kill me!" He cries out scared.
"Language. Watch it." I say a low tone of warning. "Plus, unless she wants all out war between my pack and hers she won't touch you. Don't worry baby brother, your safe." I say calmly and confidently.
"Okay." He breathes. "Okay. I got this. Just the most ruthless alpha to ever come. I can handle that." He nods and says as if to convince himself of the task.
"I'm Alpha, why is she more ruthless?" I ask more than slightly offended.
"Honey, dearest. It's not that you not ruthless, its just that if you two were mates she'd wear the chainmail in the family." He says patting my shoulder. I scoff and deny his claim.
"Yeah right. Anyways, you've never had an interest in her or he pack before, why now?" Jay asks.
"She's a year younger than I making her nineteen and she's been running her pack completely alone since her parents died six years ago and her brother ran away at the same time. I've been alone as well if we merge our packs we could have a stronger pack and we both wouldn't be alone." I say thoughtfully. I only show this more sensitive side of myself to my brother.
"Okay.... You don't have to feed me that bull, I know the truth. You want a piece of that fine ass." Jay jokes.
"Jay! No. I don't. I want a business partner." I protest. "How would you know that she's got a nice rear, I thought you batted for the other team."
"Shut up Toby." He says using the name he called me when we were younger.
The car falls into a comfortable silence as Jay types on him phone and I watch the road in front of me thinking about what I'm going to say to this girl.
It's rumored she's beautiful beyond compare and more lethal than a trained assassin. Raven is her name. My body heats in anticipation and my wolf feels excited to meet her.
I remember when I first met my wolf side. It was six years ago when I did and when you do you must transform into a wolf. The first transformation is always the worst. Your bones break and mend many times till you are finally in wolf form, the hair takes about an hour to form and the bone breaking about two. Its very painful, but the more you shift the less and less it hurts until you start getting older than fifty.
We stop when we are fifty minutes away and I reach over and clasp my brother on the shoulder with my right hand. "Be brave little brother." I say and he nods. I hand him a letter and tell him who to give it to. He takes it with trembling hands and gives a look saying 'if I die, I will kill you'.
He opens the car door and climbs out. He closes it with a thud and he starts to walk to the border. Before he steps over the boundary line he looks back at me, an empty look on his face and continues on.
I sit in the car feeling like I just sent him to die.
We wait almost an hour before I see a figure emerging from the slight fog.
The figure spits into two people and the two come closer and in focus. I get out of the car and lightly close the door. The two people is Raven and my brother except she has his in cuffs and a knife to his throat.
She stops twenty feet away when I come closer she tugs my brother to his knees.
"You will stay where you are Tobias." She yells and I halt where I am.
"Don't hurt him!" I call.
"No harm shall come to Jay as long as you do exactly what I say no more no less." She says.
"Okay we promise." I say as my third and beta climb out of their car.
"All your men must come out and stand in a line, all of them must be seen." She demands forcing my brother up and removing the knife from his neck and into a holder on her thigh.
They walk forward her hands on the chain and his bound.
She hobbles a little but it's barely noticeable. As she comes closer I notice her dark hair and bright blue eyes. She stops six feet away and reaches into the bag across her shoulder. She brings out a spike and a hammer.
Holding the chain, she drives the spike though one of the last links and the ground.
"Sit." She commands at Jay and he looks at me before kneeling at her feet. She strokes his head once and looks at the three of us. "That's all of you?" she questions as if we're stupid. "Cute."
"Hello Alpha Raven, I'm here to negotiate an alliance between our packs and forming them into one." I say bowing my head right answer.
"If we combine our strong packs we could have one mega pack that no one would dare threaten." I say. She quirks her left brow and studies me and my two men, they shiver under her gaze, but I can't judge them.
Her stare is like being dumped in a pool of ice. You can't meet her eyes. I struggle to look up and meet her eyes. But I do and in the I see a quickplay of my whole future, I wave of heat and want flooded all of my senses and I instantly felt a connection to this beautiful werewolf.
