"No." I say defiantly grabbing the spike and dragging Jay behind me he struggles to keep up with me which is surprising seeming I only have 1 and ¼ set of legs.

"Wait!" Tobias calls after but I refuse to belong to any prick who thinks he an own me.

Two men run to my side. "Please escort Alpha Tobias and his men to their land."

"Yes Alpha." They say and run past me the other men following in suit. I hear a scuffle of men behind me.

"Raven, please don't-" I hear before their car door slams shut.

Jay and I walk back in silence the sound of a sniffle alerts me and I turn back to see the boy crying. I stop and take the key from my pocket. I unlock the handcuffs and hold his hand he looks at me his eyes full of tears.

"Hey come on let's get you a room on the alpha floor maybe you'll meet my brother." I say and we walk back to the pack house.

I get Jay settled into the room next to my brothers and across from mine. He wanted to go to bed to I made the bed – with some difficulty- for him and he settled right in. He fell asleep right away and I kissed his forehead before I left the room.

I head downstairs taking five minutes on the stairs and finally I get down to my office floor. I walk down the hall way and start on some new renovations our men are going to start working on. I plan a dining pavilion that will be based on the Greek buildings. There will be a state of the art kitchen and a stage for when the more musical of us put on a concert and we have our church services.

Hobs comes into the room and sits on the chair in front of me and sits down. I don't look up but know he has a frown on his face and has leaned forward so his elbows rest on his knees.

"Hello Hobs, how's your son doing in camp beta. Training well I presume." I say still working on the final sketches of the dining pavilion.

"Yes, top of all his classes. Actually, he's graduating next month on the second and will be back on the sixth." Hobs announces fondly.

Hobs has two sons, the oldest, Jacob, is a dashing young man who is full of initiative, takes commands well and best of all, worships the ground I walk on and so he will make the perfect beta. Hobs younger son is fifteen and still in the 'I don't know who I am' stage, but that's okay he will make a great man someday I'm sure.

"Good, good. When he gets back he will take over your job as beta." I say. "I will hold a grand party on the seventh all will be invited and on that date, you will step down as beta making Jacob the beta."

"I'm not stepping down." Hobs dares.

I look up glaring. "Would you like to rephrase that Hobs?" I raise and eyebrow and dare him to say the same thing.

"I'm not stepping down." He says gritting his teeth.

"You Hobs Jackson are now evermore exiled from Redwood pack. Only you shall be exiled the rest of your family I welcome to stay but you shall not come back." I declare standing. My voice grows in alpha power and I feel him cower. "Get out of my pack within the hour or I will execute you in front of the whole pack. Now go."

He scrambles from his seat and runs from the room almost falling on his face several times.

I smile and sit back down and continue at the drawings when the phone rings. I sigh before reaching for the blaring phone. I hit the answer button and put the phone to my ear.

"Talk to me."

"Raven." Tobias' voice rings through the phone.

"Tobias?"

"Where is Jay? Is he safe? Is he okay? You better not have hurt him or I swear-" I cut him off.

"Relax momma bear he's in the spare room just upstairs sleeping. I'm taking care of him. I promised I wouldn't hurt him, and hurt him I won't." I say interrupting him.

"I want him back." Tobias says.

"Ah ah ah. Now there, my dear Tobias is something I'm not exactly willing to negotiate. It's not by my choice that he's here." I say. "You gave him to me." A smile spreads across my face as I talk.

"You bitch!" He says seething.

"That I am." I agree. "I will however meet you at the keg for dinner tomorrow night at 8 sharp. Your behaviour that night will possibly reward you your brother, and play your cards right and I might be willing to look further into this mate thing."

"I'll be there."

"Good, good. Have a nice evening Toby." I say before placing the phone on the stand thus ending the call.

I make another quick call and reserve two tables at the keg, making sure they are two opposite sides of the restaurant and to make doubly sure one is in the bar the other in the all ages section.

I check over all my work and when I see that all is done I head back to Jay's room. He lies sleeping on the bed still all curled up under the blankets.

I walk over and sit on the side of his bed. I stroke his hair lightly and I softly start to sing a song my mom used to sing to me before bed. Jay stirs and rolls over to look at me and I smile.

"Have a nice nap?" I ask getting off his bed. He nods his head and rubs his eyes.

"I'll go get you some of my brothers clothes he was the same size as you when he left." I head out the door and go next door to my brothers room.

The walls are still painted the dark blue, just the way he left them. The pictures of family and friends, the pictures he took. The ones I can't bear to take down. This is the first time I've stepped foot in here since he left. I walk to his closest and grab out a pair of jeans and a tank top and hoodie that zips up the front. It's red, Chases favorite colour. He looked so good in red.

I rush out of the room and slam the door behind me leaning on the door once I'm out. A single tear rolls down my cheek and I forcefully wipe it away. I sniff and wipe my nose.

Jays door opens and out he comes. "Raven? Are you okay?" he asks.

"No." I say my voice defeated and full of sadness. A wave of sadness over whelms me and I let out a sob. My hands let go of the clothes and they tumble to the floor. Jay comes up to me and picks me up off the floor. He takes me to his room and sits me on his lap as if I'm a little girl again.

I wrap my arms around his neck and I cry into his shirt. I cry for my run- away brother and my dead parents.

I hear the door open the hinges creaking and I look up and towards the door, in steps Chase.

"I'm home birdy."
