VII- Raven

I turn in front of the mirror not satisfied with my dress.

It a floor length pink sun dress with no straps. I sigh and start taking it off.I stand in my underwear and head back to my closet and pick out a blue knee length dress that has a tank top style top.

I nod and go back onto my closet to get my other leg. I strap it on.

With me I has two different style prosthetics, one looks like a real leg and even has a material that is basically skin that doesn't decompose. The other is a metal pole with some suspension and a foot on the end.

I luckily I don't have to use make up to blend the skin together with the length of this dress.

I find some high tops and slide them on.

I go back to stand in the mirror and almost fool myself into having two legs again.

I walk to the elevator outside my room after grabbing the flowers I bought for Tobias' mom and head down to the main floor where Jay and Chase sit. Chase has his arm around Jay and Jays head is on Chases shoulder.

"Alright love birds let's go." I say walking past and they stand and follow. We head to my other car, which is a old ford truck. We all climb in and I drive.

I follow the long winding road to Tobias' house. I stop abruptly in front of the house still having no feeling in my leg as it my right leg driving.

"No nice start stop huh?" Chase says.

"Fuck off Chase." I growl before grabbing the flowers and climbing out of my truck. I walk up to the front door and ring the door bell.

Seconds late the door opens and the same woman from yesterday opens the door.

Her graying hair is up on a French twist and the smile she wears causes wrinkles around her eyes. She wear a red dress that goes to her knees and a black blazer over top.

"Oh you must be Raven! Tobias hasn't stopped talking about you." She gushes and pulls me in for a bone crushing hug.

"Hi thank you for inviting me in to your home, Mrs..." I say stepping in and handing her the flowers.

"These are lovely and just call me Miranda." The boys decide to make a show and step onto the house.

"Hi mom this is Chase, Ravens brother and.." Jay looks to me and I smile. "And my mate."

"Mate?Oh James darling how lovely for you. I'm so happy for you!"  Miranda exclaims excitedly hugging both boys. 

We go further into the home home and enter the living room. Its couches are a soft blue hue. The rug a nice navy blue and the wood end table and coffee table are a matching cedar wood.

Tobias sits on a chair and his father on one of the two loveseats. Tobias stands and walks over to me embracing me and I hug him back.

"You look nice." He whispers and I blush.

"So do you." He wears a white button up with a tie the colour of his eyes.

He kisses my forehead and I blush yet again.

"Time for dinner!" Miranda calls from the kitchen.

Tobias takes my hand and leads me to the dinning room. He pulls out the chair at one end and I sit in it smiling at him. He sits to my right and takes my hand.

We sit and wait as a couple of omegas set out meals in front of us.

Chase and Jay sit to my left and Tobias' dad sits at the other end. The last seat beside Tobias is for his mom. 

I pick up my fork and notice Tobias' father watching me.

"You have a lovely home sir." I say a smile on my face.

"My name is Drew." He says before putting his head down as of to study his food.

I nod and eat some of the pasta lain before me. The penne tastes delicious and some hidden chicken pieces really spice it up.

"So Tobias tells us that you are Alpha." Drew says.

"Yes I took the position after my parents died in a dreaded rouge attack." I tell my smile never wavering.

"When was that? The attack?" Drew questions.

"About six years ago. For the first year our exiled beta, Hobs, lead us until I was ready to step into my rightfull place."

"Six years ago....." He drawls at a whisper, his face pales and he immediately becomes interested in his shoes.

"Didn't you go to war with a pack six years ago?" Miranda asks her mate.

"Yeah who did you go to war with dad?" Jay asks.

"No body it doesn't matter." He says dismissively.

"Okay..." I say trying to find a new topic but fail to find something to talk about. Social meetings has never been my forte.

"Raven you said exiled beta, what do you mean?" Chase asks.

"Well you remember Hobs, he simply wasn't doing his job so I wanted to replace him with his son, but Hobs refused and well he's gone now." I tell him.

"What about his son?"

"His son comes back soon we are going to celebrate the return and rising up of our new beta." I put my hand on Tobias'. "Maybe soon we'll celebrate the merging of Redwood pack and Silvermoon pack." I smile at him and he smiles back.

"No!" Drew exclaims.

"Why not?" I ask.

He winced and looks down at his full plate as if contemplating something. Finally he looks up and with a sad and pained expression he says. "Because I'm the reason you lost your parents."
