It was the first time I ever broke my parents' rules.

Sitting across from Haruka,
In a small cafe tucked away from society,
I can't help but feel free.

The stifling city smoke and hoards of people,
All of it feels like a distant memory.
The silent cafe feels like a safe haven,
A momentary escape from the confines of my suffocating life.

"I'm sorry if it's sudden..." Haruka apologizes,
Her small delicate hands gripping the coffee cup tightly.
I assure her that it's fine,
Wondering if my leniency towards her is because of my status as president...

She doesn't give me the chance to ponder further though,
The picture she slides to me enough to stop my train of thought.

The picture of a man against the camera causes me to recall,
Recall an old and painful memory of long ago...
