It was a well-meaning lie,
Built upon a wish to live.
There is a saying-
'Surviving and Living aren't alike.'
She didn't want to survive-
She wanted to live.
It was different for him though.
He didn't want to live-
Yet he was forced to survive.
She gave him a reason to live-
To strive for a future even without her.
But she was all he had,
The only one keeping him from teetering over the edge.
If he were to lose her-
Then, there would be no point in living.
