Her hands were pressed against the thick glass window of the Ark as she looked down at the earth.

Earth.

It was everyone's dream but Scarlett  wouldn't be around anymore to see it. At least, that's what she thought. A little over six months ago Scarlett was given the order along with a few more mechanics and engineers to start and rebuild a drop ship. It had been a top secret mission. Sure, Scarlett had grown suspicious as to why they were rebuilding a drop ship but she wasn't allowed to ask any questions. Even her own mother wouldn't tell her. After an attempt on hacking the Ark's system, there was still nothing to find. So she gave up asking and did her job.

A month later her father got floated and a few hours later her sister got locked up in the Skybox. She never got to know the reason why until four months ago, when she went to see her sister.

Scarlett patiently waited for the guard to be done with patting her down. "You're good to go. You have ten minutes." The guard stated and pushed the button that unlocked the cell door. She gave him a polite, thankful nod and entered her sister's cell. The door closed again as she stood inside, her eyes trained on her sleeping sister.

She silently walked forward and crouched down beside the bed, deciding to wake her up. "Clarke, wake up." Scarlett whispered, shaking her lightly. Clarke had never been a fast sleeper so waking her up wasn't that hard of a job. Her eyes fluttered open, adjusting to dim light of her cell before she turned her head to the left.

"Scarlett?" Her voice was a little groggy from her nap. Scarlett nodded, a small smile on her face. Clarke returned the gesture and stood up, Scarlett following her action. The sisters engulfed each other in a hug, both happy to see one another.

When the happy reunion was over, Scarlett her face grew into a grimace. "Clarke, I need to know why you are here-" she wove her arms around, "-and... and why dad got floated."

Clarke gave her sister a pain filled look and sighed, they have been over this already. "Scar-"

Scarlett broke her off and shook her head, "Stop. Just- Just don't, okay? I have the right to know why our dad died, because that's all I can think off. Sinclair put me of my job because I can't concentrate on what my hands are doing. I almost made a fucking bomb because of that. Can you imagine how that would've ended?" She confessed. This was the first time after her father's death that she had opened up and it felt good.

Clarke looked at her with sad eyes and nodded slowly. She sat down, gestured for her sister to do the same, and she let out a sigh. "A few days before dad's execution he found a flaw in the oxygen system. Scar, life support on the Ark is failing. Dad wanted to go public, tell the people that the Ark was, is, dying. The Council disagreed. I overheard mom and dad arguing about it and went to Wells because I couldn't keep this big of a secret to myself, so I told him. That was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life. Wells told his dad and the rest you know."

Scarlett couldn't find any words. The only thing she could think of was that her dad got floated because he wanted to do the right thing. Then it hit her. The drop ship, the secret mission, everything. Maybe earth wasn't as far away from a dream as she thought.

Scarlett was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the hissing sound of her cell door opening. She turned around with curiosity. Three guards walked in, two of them were armed and one of them carried a box. Her eyes widened. It can't be... She thought. "Prisoner three-two-one, face the wall." One of the guards barked out. Scarlett scoffed and turned around, her eyes focussing on the earth once again.
