Where there was tremendous grief,
there was spectacular love.

-Unkown.

Her blue eyes that were normally filled with excitement, mischief and determination were now filled with nothing but sadness and disbelief as she stared into the empty space in front of her. Tears escaped her eyes but no sound came out of her mouth, she felt frozen.

Just moments ago she had been grinning because Bellamy had caught her words. Just moments ago, she had been swearing like sailor because the arrow was being removed and the wound had been burned shut. Just moments ago she had been crying because of a whole other kind of pain than that she felt now. Her mother was dead, and that was the only thing she could think about.

"M-Mom was most likely on the Exodus ship." Clarke's words rang through her mind and Scarlett squeezed her eyes shut, holding on to her knees as she placed her head on them. Scarlett hadn't believed her at first, so when she stepped out of the drop ship and saw the plume of almost black smoke in the air, she ran off. Since then, no one had bothered her; knowing she needed to be alone.

A sob finally racked through her body, realization hitting her hard. Both her parents were gone, the only family she had was Clarke, but how soon would she lose her, too? More sobs racked through her body as she somehow managed to lay down on her makeshift bed. She kept her eyes tightly shut and at some point, she had finally fell asleep.

"Scar?" A gentle voice filled her ears as she was between the state of awake and asleep. "Scarlett, wake up." She didn't listen, though, and turned around, now laying on her stomach with her face buried in a piece of clothing that she used as pillow. The voice called her name again, this time a little louder but it was still gentle.

"Go away." She croaked out, waving her arms in the air to try and get the person away. Though, a hot searing pain went through her arms as she did, causing her to hiss and sit up. Her eyes were still closed but she was as awake as she could be, so when the voice asked if she was okay, she finally recognized it. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Just forgot..." She trailed off, "What is it, Bellamy?"

He sighed and bit his lip. "We are going to the crash sight, Clarke said I shouldn't but I wanted to ask if you wanted to come." Scarlett opened her eyes and looked at him. "I understand if you don't-" He started, wanting to apologize as he saw the broken look in her eyes, but she broke him off.

"No, don't. Don't apologize. I'll come." She said, standing up, but too fast. She tripped over her own feet and fell against Bellamy, who automatically wrapped his arms around her. But instead of pulling away, she stayed where she was, in his arms where she felt a little more save and a little more warm. "I-"

"I know. And it's okay to feel like complete shit, don't apologize for that." He told her and she nodded into his chest. They stood there for a moment before Bellamy pushed her off, gently. "We should leave. I'll wait outside your tent."

Scarlett nodded, giving him a small smile (even though she was sure it looked more like a grimace) and she quickly dressed into another shirt. She stood still for a moment, inhaling and exhaling before leaving her tent behind.

Scarlett was struck with horror as she looked at the crash sight in front of her. Trees were burned to the ground, fires were still burning and the smell was horrific. "Oh, my God." She breathed out, immediately breathing in the toxic smelling air, causing her to cough.

People were already spread out over the sight, covering the ground and searching for anything that could be helpful or give them some information about the crash. Scarlett doubted they would.
