I have to be brave. I have to have courage. I can't live my life being scared and worried about all of the worst possible outcomes.
-Riffat Matin.
Softly humming, Scarlett was trailing behind Clarke, Finn and Wells while she was taking in as much of the surroundings as she could. In moments like this she wished she had a couple of extra eyes. As her eyes found the others, she noticed how behind she was so with a pout she hurried forward and next to Finn.
"You know, you should, uh, really rethink this whole hating me thing." Wells spoke up, jumping down from the heightened ground. Scarlett stopped humming and scoffed as she heard his words, jumping down, too. "It's not just the Grounders. We're surrounded by criminals. We need each other. We're gonna be friends again."
"You killed our father. Not possible." Clarke kept is short but very clear.
He was way too confident in what he was saying right that moment, and if he knew Clarke, he would've know that she was not so easy on forgiving and forgetting. "Don't sound so confident, there won't be any forgiveness." Scarlett decided to say. "Apparently, you weren't such a saint either. Otherwise you wouldn't be down here."
Wells shot her a particular nasty glare and put a little speed in his steps to keep up with Clare. "This is Earth, Clarke. Anything is possible." He told her. Scarlett scowled, getting irritated by the confidence in his voice that shouldn't be there.
Finn, who started to hang a little at the back now, jogged to Scarlett her side and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, Blue. How are you holding up?"
Scarlett smiled at the mention of his nickname for her and she turned her head, "I'm okay. Chancellor boy is just a pain in the ass, nothing more." She sighed and looked at the ground, stepping over a rather large rock.
"Why?" He furrowed, taking a quick glance at her before looking at Wells who was walking behind Clarke -- trying his hardest to keep up with her.
"He's too thick headed to realize that Clarke won't ever forget him for killing our father." She explained with a scowl edged onto her face. Normally she'd have asked how he was doing, but with a quick glance she noticed he was having a great time.
Finn, realizing that too, hopped over a fallen tree and hurried past Wells. Scarlett noticed he said something to him but she couldn't make out what. Letting it go, she caught up with her sister.
"Don't let him get to you, he doesn't see your pain like the thick headed asshole he his." She told her.
Clarke looked up at her younger sister and smiled little at the choice of her words. "I won't, I promise." Scarlett smiled at her and nodded with satisfaction. They walked further in silence.
Scarlett lost sight in Wells and Finn but she assumed that they went down the hill. When Clarke and her walked over, she saw she assumed right. "Why are you standing still?" She asked when she came to a halt next to Finn.
Instead of answering her, he stomped on the ground. A loud thud was heard, as if he was standing on metal. She gave him a questioning look, which he returned with a shrug.
"What is it?" Clarke asked. Finn shot her a look that he didn't know and he crouched down, ripping away the moss and plants that grew over it. He grabbed a handle and tugged on it, causing it to open.
He let out a surprised laugh and looked up at them, "It's an automobile." Scarlett her eyes widened and grinned widely. Finn and her looked at each other, their eyes shinning in excitement.
"Come on, guys. This thing has been here a hundred years. Alright? It can wait. Jasper can't." Scarlett looked at her sister with a pout but complied anyway, knowing that Clarke was right. The older Griffin continued walking, Wells hurrying after her as if she had honey on her ass.
