Today is the day. Cassian, K-2SO and I will be getting our awards at the ceremony.

We are all standing outside of two large doors. Inside are hundreds of members of the rebellion. From the most low ranked to the generals. No pressure, Jyn.

"You guys ready?", asked a man who appeared next to us.

"Yes.", the three of us replied in unison.

"Ok, open the doors.", he said to the guards.

Here goes nothing.

As we walk in, I look around the extremely large room. There are so many people here. Even the notorious Luke, Han, and Chewbacca were here. I can feel my palms getting sweatier by the second.

I have to remember why we are here and realize that we are being honored. It is important that people know what happened in Scarif. I can feel my nervousness drifting away.

We walk up about five steps and now we are slightly above the crowd. Everyone is cheering. I can feel my eyes watering. We just got here, Jyn.

"Welcome, everyone. Today, we are here to honor the few who remain and those who lost their lives in what is now being named the battle of Scarif.", announced Mon Mothma, " Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and a droid named K-2SO are the sole survivors of this tragedy and will be receiving awards on behave of all those who fought, including themselves."

Then, a storm of claps and cheers erupted from the cloud.

Yesterday, K2 told me he did not wish to speak at the ceremony but is very pleased to have been acknowledged which makes me more than happy. For him to know that he matters.

We were handed a microphone by a stander-by. Cassian is the first to speak.

"Thank you so much for this amazing honor. It is such a blessing to be a part of a cause to which I owe my life. Although, I never have and never will again disobey orders, I think we can all agree that the outcome was worth it. Jyn here, the leader of the battle that took place at Scarif, has much to say and so she is the one with emotional speech."said Cassian. The crowd laughed loudly. "These awards are in honor of our fallen comrades, particularly Bodhi Rook, Chirrut Îmwe, and Baze Malbus. May they find the Force."

Though short, Cassian's statement really got the crowd going. What a character. Now I am more than confident that this crowd will support me.

"Thank you all so much for these awards.", I begin, "It truly means the galaxy to me that all those who lost their lives are acknowledged for their bravery and sacrifice."

I take a deep breath.

"I never expected anyone to support my plan to send the Death Star files. Thank you, Cassian, for believing in me and helping me gain support." I look back at him in admiration and see a light pink tint in his face.

"These heroes risked their lives for a plan that might not even have worked and followed a leader that the grand majority didn't know at all and that astonished me to this day. I don't want to sound rude but...I'm glad I disobeyed orders. And I'm glad others joined me in the disobedience. Those who lost their lives... they are stardust now...looking over us and all this resistance has achieved and has yet to achieve."

I look up to the skies. "Bodhi, Chirrut, Baze...thank you so much for believing in me when no one else would...for giving a stubborn, lonely girl a chance to make a difference...for being a member of Rogue One."

I look back at the crowd who stand either in tears or in awe.

"I'm not going to apologize for disobeying orders that I didn't support. And I don't think any of the members of my team would want me to apologize. May the Force be with this Rebellion and may the fallen heroes of Rogue One be one with the force.", I conclude.

Screams of adoration and tears of both sadness and joy rush through the crowd. But the crowd's approval is not want I am looking for. It is Bodhi, Chirrut, and Baze's approval I seek. I look up to the night sky and spot three stars that shine particularly brightly. It is them. Tears are running down my face.

Soon, none other than Princess Leia herself comes up to awards is with the medals of honor.

Cassian, K2, and I stand side by side with a proud posture.

She comes up to me Last and I am star-struck.

"It is an honor to meet you, Princess", I say.

"No, it is an honor to meet you, Ms. Erso. You are a true hero. Thank you so much for sending me those files. Without them, the Death Star might still be in existence.", she says as she puts the medal around my neck.

All three of us walk down the steps and out of the room, just the way we entered.

"It was an honor receiving these medals with you two. I will see you tomorrow, my wires are all twisted and I need to rest.", says K2 with his usual attitude. It is one that I now appreciate.

Now it is just me and Cassian.

"Your speech was beautiful. Your father...and Bodhi, Chirrut, and Baze would be proud of you", says Cassian with admiration. I smile brightly.

"You know, I looked up at the stars after the speech and I saw three stars that twinkled so brightly. It's them, Cassian", I say with tears of joy in my eyes, "It's them."

Cassian and I hug each other tightly as we admire those three bright stars.

I do not regret anything that has happened to lead up to this moment, where I belong somewhere honorable and good, in a galaxy full of evil and darkness.

Yes, I did rebel, but this is the rebellion, isn't it?
