"Fuck! It hurts so much!", whined Leia, "I can't do this, Jyn."
"Yes, you can Leia. It's just a little longer.", I say encouragingly, squeezing her sweaty hands.
"He's almost out, General. How about this? I count to three and then you give me a big push.", said the doctor standing in front of her seperated legs.
"Ok.", she replied weakly.
"One...two...three!", screamed the doctor.
"Push hard, Leia, you're so close!", I say to her as I held her hand, feeling it being pressure to the point of redness.
She pushed so hard that the veins in her forehead were visible, her head shaking, her voice giving out a scream that I'm sure the whole base could hear.
Then all of a sudden, her screams were muted out by the harmonic wailings of a baby.
Tears not only streamed down Leia's face but also mine at the long awaited arrival of her beautiful child.
I went over to the doctor quickly and wrapped the baby in a blanket, not finding it very hard, gently wiping the small amounts of blood from it face until it was clean, and taking him to his mother.
"Leia, meet your child.", I said through tears.
She softly cried as I handed her the child, but from exhaustion of being in here since two o'clock in the morning and happiness at holding her beautiful child in her arms.
"He's beautiful.", she cried, "Can you please get Han?"
"Of course.", I said quickly leaving the room and rushing into the waiting room.
I quickly spotted Han with his head in his hands, a look of worry on his face.
I walk over to him and place a hand on his shoulder.
"Is she okay?", he asked with bloodshot eyes.
"Yes. Now go see your baby boy. Room 2187.", I says with a wide smile.
"Thanks, Jyn.", he says, giving me a hug and running to the room.
In that moment, Cassian rushes into the medical wing.
"Jyn! I heard Leia is giving birth and I couldn't find you so I figured you be here with her. Wait...did you deliver the baby?", he asked, noticing my face, shiny with sweat and my heaven breathing.
"I helped.", I say.
"My Force! Jyn Erso. Soldier by day, nurse by early morning.", he says, creating a sign in the air.
"I'm just glad it's over. My Force, that woman can scream!", I say laughing.
Cassian holds me close, whispering into my ear, "I can't wait for you to be the one in that hospital room."
I feel myself blush profusely as I give him a sly smirk, him returning one.
"Oh, Cassian, you should see him. He's absolutely beautiful.", I say leaning on his shoulder.
Just then, a nurse walks up to us.
"Jyn Erso?", she asks.
I nod in reply.
"General Leia is calling for you.", she says, walking away.
"Come with me.", I beckon Cassian.
"Are you sure?", he asks as we reach room 2187.
"Let me ask.", I say.
I poke my head inside the room, "Leia, is it okay if I let Cassian in?"
"Of course! I had no idea he was here!", she replies, surprisingly energetic for a lady who just gave birth.
We both come in and walk over to Han and Leia.
"Oh my Force. He's so adorable!", whisper-yells Cassian, cooing at the newborn.
"Would you like to carry him?", asks Leia.
"I would love to.", he replies, being handed the baby.
Who knew the once hardened Resistance fighter would ow melt at the sight of a baby.
As Cassian carried the child and spoke with Han, I walked over to Leia's bedside.
"Shit, who knew birthing a child is harder than strategizing a battle?", she joked as we both giggled.
"You did amazing, Leia. Both of you.", I said sincerely.
"Well I can't thank you enough for being here for me. You know, if this rebel thing doesn't work out, you should consider a career as a nurse.", she joked with a raised eyebrow.
I laughed, trying to suppress it as to not walked the sleeping angel in the room.
"I have no idea how you can be so energetic after giving birth for more than an hour.", I said with wide eyes.
"Well it's 5:00 in the morning, so this is probably the high before I crash.", she said as I noticed the dark circles under her eyes from lack of sleep. She is definitely going to fall asleep any moment now.
"Well, I going to see the man of the hour.", I say, referring to the baby.
I walk over to Han and Cassian, motioning him to hand over the baby.
"He has the most beautiful eyes, just like milk chocolate.", I say as the child stares up at me in wonder. I must look like a giant to him.
Cassian walks over and looks over my shoulder at the child, resting a hand on my shoulder.
"So, what is his name?", he asks. I never thought to ask.
"Ben.", reply both Han and Leia as they smile genuinely.

Author's Note:Today was my last day of school! Next year, I will be a junior in high school. I just feel so liberated.
Isn't it weird reading about baby Ben when we know what is to become of him later in life? Oh my God, that photo killed me. What a cute trio!
Also, is anyone interested in making a new cover for this book? Don't get me wrong, i love the cover but I'm looking to chance it up. Comment, private message, or post on my message board if you are interested!
May the Force be with you guys.
