The God Complex [Part 1]

A/N: Hello there! :)

Here we are for another episode of our beloved "The Pond Twins". I've been talking with StrangeMagic13 (I hope it's okay, I gave you a shout-out.), who has been AMAZING with helping me talk through my ideas. It's good to have someone to do that with so you can get feedback.

Anyway, I think I've got the whole rest of this book pretty much mapped out. And I am happy to say that with the 9 episodes (that's including the one you're about to read) that we have left, there will be a total of 10 filler chapters. Four of those will actually be right in a row. Remember in the AN at the beginning of "The Girl(s) Who Waited" where I mentioned that we have some major stuff approaching on the horizon for this story? I meant that. All the filler chapters that I said are coming up, a few of them will actually be quite significant to the plot. And the others will be more for fun. OH, and the epilogue that I've got planned for at the end of this book...man, I can't wait for that.

I think I've said too much. *giggles* I've just been so excited for the ideas I've gotten for this story that I like teasing and hinting about them to you guys.

ANYWAY, I'll shut up now. :)

Inside, Hotel, Stairwell...

The Doctor popped his head up as did Lexi and Amy, their hair hanging down as Rory looked as well.

"'Let's go to Ravan-Skala,' he says.'" Amy began. "'The people are 600 feet tall, you have to talk to them in hot air balloons and the Tourist Information Center is made of one of their hats,' he says."

"I don't believe I see any huge hats." Lexi commented, walking up a couple of steps.

The Doctor nodded at her in agreement before going and putting an arm around Amy and Rory. "Lexi. Amy. Beaky. This could be the most exciting thing I have ever seen!"

"You're kidding." Beaky (Rory) blinked.

"Definitely not something you would've said the other night." Lexi thought to herself. "Don't say that out loud, Lexi. Don't say it out loud. Don't say it out loud. Don't--"

"Lex, you okay?" The Doctor asked when he noticed her lost in thought.

Snapping out of it, Lexi just shook her head. "Y-yeah, I'm fine."

Ignoring that exchange, Amy walked up a step. "How can you be excited about a rubbish hotel on a rubbish bit of Earth?"

The Doctor eyed Lexi for a moment more before turning back to Amy and Rory. "Because, assembled Ponds, this is not Earth. This has just been made to look like Earth. The craftsmanship involved... Can you imagine?"

"Where are we, then?" Lexi asked.

They all then went back down to the floor where the TARDIS was resting. There were potted plants and framed photograph portraits hanging on the walls.

"I don't know." The Doctor answered. "Something must have yanked us off course. Look at the detail on that cheese plant!" He then went and deeply inhaled a leaf.

"Right, but who would mock up an Earth hotel?" Rory enquired.

The Doctor then took an apple from a bowl. "Colonists maybe, recreating a bit of home, like when ex-pats open English pubs in Majorca." He took a bite of apple. "No, whoever did this, I am shaking his/her hand/tentacle."
