Inside, Living quarters...

'Habernera' from Carmen played as a young woman and man described their day.

"Day 363. The terror continues." The man spoke into a dictaphone before picking up some nails and nailing boards over a door.

The woman then snatched the dictaphone away from him before speaking into it herself.

"Also, made another soufflé. Very nearly." She said before throwing out a burnt and sunken soufflé.

"Checked defenses." The man commented into the dictaphone as he passed the woman.

The woman looked over to the door and saw some boards were now down. "They came again again last night. That's what I don't understand. Why always at night?"

"Maybe they're vampires." The man shrugged, earning him a slap on the arm from the woman which made him laugh. "Also, been reading Nathaniel Hawthorne books and short stories. Quite good, actually."

The young woman was now laying in a hammock, gently swinging back and forth as she spoke into the dictaphone. "Oh, and it's my Mum's birthday. Happy birthday, Mum. I did make you a soufflé, but it was too beautiful to live."

There was then a loud banging from outside.

"You will let us enter!" A Dalek exclaimed. "We will enter! We are the Daleks, you will let us enter! Enter! ENTER! ENTER!"

The man glanced over at the door from where he lounged back in another hammock on the other side of the room before motioning for the woman to toss the dictaphone to him, catching it when she did.

"Still, they haven't got to us, yet." The man spoke into the dictaphone. "We've managed to hold 'em off for this long. Who's to say we can't continue?"

With that, the man then grabbed a small remote and turned up the music playing on the stereo. It was now playing one his music choices.

"You got me runnin' goin' out of my mind
You got me thinkin' that I'm wastin' my time
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down"

The man turned up Electric Light Orchestra's 'Don't Bring Me Down' even more to try and drown out the sound of the Daleks banging on the door outside as he and the woman put their hands over their ears.

Inside, Parliament...

The Doctor and Lexi were now pacing as the Daleks swiveled their eyestalks to watch them.

"What are they doing?" Rory whispered to Amy.

"He's chosen the most defendable area in the room, counted all the Daleks, counted all the exits and now he's calculating the exact distance we're all standing apart and starting to worry." Amy listed off and then glanced at her sister, noticing that she was now standing still with a contemplative look on her face. "Oh, and look at her frowning now. Something's wrong with Amy and Rory, and who's going to fix it? She's biting her bottom lip, that's when you know she's thinking."

"We have arrived." The Dalek Supreme spoke up.

"Arrived where?" The Doctor asked as Lexi walked over to stand beside him.

"Doctor..." The Dalek Prime Minister summoned.

"The Prime Minister will speak with you now." Darla informed.

The started to walk towards the Prime Minister, Lexi following close behind.

"Don't." The Doctor stated, turning around and putting a hand on Lexi's shoulder to stop her.
