Outside, Great Pyramid, Beacon, Evening...
River, Lexi, the Doctor, Sky and Jupiter all arrived at the top of the pyramid.
"What's this?" The Doctor asked, looking at the device. "Ooh, its a timey-wimey distress beacon. Who built this?"
"I'm a child of the TARDIS, I understand the physics." River answered. "But I didn't do it all on my own."
"I helped." Lexi spoke up, taking a step forward. "Physics isn't my... area of expertise, but I try. And I think River and I have done something pretty amazing."
"But it's all you've got." The Doctor said, nodding to the device. "A distress beacon."
"We've been sending out a message." River explained. "A distress call. Outside the bubble of our time, the universe is still turning."
"And we've sent a message everywhere." Lexi continued. "To the future and the past, the beginning and the end of everything. 'The Doctor is dying. Please, please help.'."
"Mum, this is kinda ridiculous." Jupiter chimed in.
"No, it IS ridiculous." The Doctor corrected. "That message would mean nothing to anyone. It's insane. Worse, it's stupid!"
"We barricaded the door." Amy said as she and Rory ran up, joining them. "We've got a few minutes... just tell him. Lexi, River, just tell him."
"You see, those reports of the sun spots and the solar flares. They're wrong... There aren't any." Lexi began to explain. "It's not the sun, dear. It's you... The sky is full of a million, million voices, saying yes, of course we'll help."
"Because if you didn't know, Uncle..." River continued. "You have touched so many lives, saved so many people. I mean, did you really think that when your time came, you'd really have to do more than just ask?"
"You have decided that the universe is better off without you..." Lexi said, her voice cracking with emotion. "But I can tell you for certain... the universe does not agree."
"Lexi, no one can help me..." He said, trying to get through to her.
"Mum..." Sky spoke up. "I'm sorry, but a fixed point has been altered. No matter how much it pains me to say that, it has happened and time is disintegrating because of it."
"We can't let him die!" River exclaimed, gesturing to the Doctor. "We can't let him die and let you and Jupiter be ripped from existence. Ripped from our lives. We're trying to save you three!"
"River, I have to die..." The Doctor said lowly, turning his head to look at her.
"Will you just shut up!" Lexi shouted. "We can't let that happen... I can't let you die without knowing you are loved by so many and so much... And by no one more than me. Do you really want to give up all that you and I could have?... We know what our future could potentially be like. Do you really want to lose all of that?..."
"Lex..." The Doctor whispered. "You make a really good case. You are making it so hard to refuse... But we know what this means. You, me, River, Sky, Jupiter. We're all ground zero of an explosion that will engulf all reality. Billions on billions will suffer and die."
"And you don't think River will suffer if she has to kill you?" Lexi tilted her head. "You don't think any of us will suffer as we feel the pain and loss of what your death will cause?"
"You think you'll suffer worse than every other living thing in the universe?!" He asked her, raising his voice.
"Yes." She and River both answered.
