Chapter 5
" no no!" My wife screamed! Mrs. Roberts started crying. " this is your fault! Why did you ruin this thanksgiving! You selfish little-" " I'm sorry, but not everybody can be perfect like you!" I yelled straight back.
" everybody calm!" Mr. Roberts yelled. He took the burnt cloth, threw it in the trash and came back to his wife. " we're leaving. We don't need this!" He turned around and grabbed his wife, griped her hard almost pinching her.
"Owe!" Mrs. Roberts said while wiping her watery (fake!) tears.
" woman! I swear, come on!" He pulled her over.
" no!" She spit on him.
" I will do things to you that's bad, painful things!"
" try me!" She spit again.
He took his hand and slapped her hard on the face. She was on the floor.
" get up you fat woman!" She stood up with tears running down her face, her cheek was blood red. I moved from my shocked position. My wife was screaming! Job stood there crying. He was watching his parents abuse each other! This had taken a real bad turn from a horrible mistake to a abusive fight.
"I'm done! I'm done! I never loved you!" Mrs. Roberts threw her wedding ring and it hit him in the eye! " that was for calling me fat!" She threw her engagement ring and it pieced him in his eye!
" and that was for slapping me! I hope your blind!" She turned around opened the door and went home.
"Dad you abusive piece of-"
"Shut up get the car were to the motel!"
" I'm not going anywhere with you!"
"He'll stay with us!" I said, I felt brave saying that, like the hero.
" yeah I'll give him breakfast and I'll wash his clothes. it'll be like raising a child again" my wife said, stating the obvious.
"No he's coming with me." Roberts said. " we will pawn this ring and this ring." He held up the two rings mrs. Roberts threw at him mere seconds ago.
" you won't be pawning anything! Hand them over!" My wife said. "There hers." Pointing to his house. He handed them to her and ran out.
"Thanks for letting me stay!" Job said.
"No problem." My wife said, " go to bed it's been a long day."
" I love you i'de never do something like that to you." I said giving her a kiss.
She smiled. " I know, I know you wouldn't."
