Chapter 14
After the obscure court room disagreement jane, job and I huddled in a carriage to ride home. The carriage was completely silent for the half way through the ride, till jane broke the awkward silence. "So....." She began. "That was interesting!" She fake laughed and looked at me in the driver seat of the carriage.
"Yes-yes It was." I agreed to this obvious observation.
"Don't worry, mom." Job said
"I'm not-if God wants us to have you with us,
It will be. But if he wants with mrs. Roberts, then so it be." Jane said sweetly.
"So what happen back there? I didn't see everything, just yelling from my real mom."
"Yes, that is true." I said keeping my eyes on the road.
"Well, I was asking the judge if he had ever been in this experience," jane began. "But he answered it not the way I wanted. I wanted him to tell me if he had ever been in a court room with that predicament, but he answered if he had ever been the victim."
"Oh okay." Job said taking in that mouth full.
"The picture is that we probably don't have a chance, we just need to persuade mr. Roberts to say that he doesn't care if we take custody." I said, still looking straight forward to the road.
"He's right, there's no use retelling the story. We just need to go home and go to mr. Roberts house, and hopefully find him there." Jane said.
Job uttered a 'yes.' And then he spoke," but what if we can't find him there?"
"Well, if we can't, we can't take custody of you, because the judge said there could be no farther decision, well legal decisions to be made with out your real father." I said making a swivel in the road cause I lost focuse.
"Woah!" Jane yelled at me, "keep you eyes on the road!"
"I am, I'm just trying to help." I said.
"But we just have to find my real father!" Job said with anxiety.
"We will. You need some water." Jane said. "Jim pick it up a little."
"I'm sorry, jane there's no red jetpack that makes it go faster." I yelled a little angry she was critiquing my driving.
"He might be choking!" Jane yelled.
"Oh my stars!" Job says ridiculously.
"Jim, he sees stars!" Jane says and I laugh.
"It's Just an Exspretion!" I said.
"Exspretion, no!" Jane says.
"Listen-I'm fine!" Job says loudly directly to jane.
We pulled up to mr. Roberts house. Job got out. Jane and I stayed to keep watch of the carriage. Job walked through the storm door, then the wooden door. Knocked, then completely entered.
We waited...and waited and waited, waited, and.....waited. Jane set in the carriage bored to death, as did I. Worried that job couldn't convince mr. Roberts to come and help I layed down and day dreamed, I fantasized that job was 30 and jane was 124 and I was 120 and I died.
Then switch!
The ocean smelled of shells and salt water. A huge grown man stood in front of me with a mustache and moon speticles. A goatee grew at the end of his chin. I recognized the man as my loving father.
His shirt was rugged and dirty. His pants plastered with paint and sweat.
Then switch!
A fat woman stood in front of me. Mrs Roberts trough some cookies at me making my face chocolaty and hot. Her shirt was cleaner than my fathers an then she cleaned my face off with a wet rag.
After she had cleaned me she slapped me with her face!
Switch!
A bigger man then my father, who kind-of looked like him, clothes wise. Mr. Roberts had job in his arms and then he screamed at the top of his lungs.
"AGGGHH, I HATE YOU! I WANT TO BE WITH JIM!" Screamed job.
Then, switch!
A little boy set in front of me, he was muddy. I instantly knew it was job.
"I want to stay with mr. Roberts!" Job said.
"NOOOO!!!!!" I yelled.
Switch!
"OWE! AHGGGHGH!" It was jane.
She had blood flowing from her chest. She had been shot.
"JANE!" I cried.
Then at a instant she took her finale breath.
Then, switc-
"AGGHHH!!!!!!!!" I screamed. I had woken up. Jane stood over me.
My hearing was hazy and my vision a bleer.
"He said olyulp!" Job yelled.
"What?" I asked not hearing her clearly.
"He said olyulp!" Job muffled.
"I can't understand you!" I yelled not realizing it.
"I said okay." A tall man with the rugged clothes like my father.
"Why hello mr. Roberts. Thank you for understanding and agreeing." I said.
Mr. Roberts hugged me, it's been awhile.
