Chapter#38 - BIG ASS SNAKE

Lana's P.O.V

Harry and I ran down to the middle of the large room, past Ginny and down a hallway. 

"what the hell is going on Potter" I managed to say during breaths 

"I may have gotten in to deep this time" he said 

"what when has there been other times" I said 

"just last year...now will you shut it...the snake can hear us" he said 

"won't it be able to see us too" I hissed at him 

"nope" he said 

"what?" I said 

"shh...there a lot of things you don't know" he said 

"I know" I said and then I shuted up. 

We moved quietly down a few hallway until we saw the big ass snake, we quickly dashed down another hall, but it was blocked off.  My heart jumped, this is how I'm going to die I thought.  I pushed myself up against the back wall.  This was the most insane moment of my life.  I never thought this would ever happen in a thousand years and yet here I am about to become snake food.  

The snake poked it's head down our hall way, my heart was beating so fast I thought I was going to have a heart attack.  Then Harry pick up a rock and moved closer to the beast, what the hell was he doing was he going to try and fight it with a rock, because I don't see that working.  Then he threw the rock down the some other hallway.  The snake slid out of our hall and went after the noise.  I smiled and then Harry waved at me to follow him, he hurried back to the main room where Ginny was.  But this time it wasn't only Ginny that was in the room.  Tom was there too.  

I came to a stop, I wanted to back away and run away. 

"Harry" he said as if Harry were his friend 

"Tom" Harry said rushing to Ginny and falling on his knees "you have to help us" 

"he won't" I said, Harry looked at me confused 

"don't you know who he is?" I asked him 

Harry didn't answer me, he just looked back to Tom. 

"who are you?" Harry said 

Tom just smirked and the wrote something with his wand,  Tom Marvolo Riddle,  it looked like it was carved into the air, and then it begun to change into, I am Lord Voldemort. 

Harry begun to moved away from him and that's when I noticed that Tom was speaking in some weird language, and then I saw the snake coming down the middle of the room. 

"Harry" I screamed at him, Harry turned and saw the snake and then run forward, and then I saw something else a bird...no a  phoenix flighting in with something it dropped it right in front of Harry and he pulled a sword out of it.  This was weird to be watching from the side lines. I wanted to help but it felt as if my feet were stuck to the ground.  Then I noticed that Tom no longer stood were he was before. 

"there is no need for that Tom" I said 

"I do wish you would stop calling me that" he said 

"hey when you look like that I'm going to call you that" I said 

"fine" he managed to say without sounding to displeased. 

"why did you do this to me?" I asked 

"because I don't want to see you get hurt" he murmured 

"sure and what's the real reason...is it to see Harry Potter finally dead?" I asked trying not to be happy about it. 

"it is not his time yet...and neither is yours" he said  as Harry put the sword through the snakes head. 

"I see" I said 

"you know you are quiet smart...for a first year" he said 

"is that suppose to be nice...who knew the great lord voldemort could be so nice" I said mocking him. 

"yes very funny" he said with a smile...and that was the first and last time I saw him smile, he disappeared in front of my eyes, and appeared in front of Harry. 

I could see what was happening because I was so far away from it, but I knew it was bad as soon as Voldemort bursted into flames.  I felt my heart jump and for some weird reason I started to cry.  Why was I crying why did I care.  I wiped them away quickly and then ran over to Harry. 

 "where were you?" he said catching his breath 

"I was stuck to the floor, must have been a spell" I said 

"oh" he said and then looked  to Ginny

"do you think she'll be okay?" he asked me 

"I'm sure she'll be fine"  I said putting my hand on his shoulder. 

"what should we do now?" he asked and that's when I saw his arm it was bleeing badly. 

"what happened to your arm?" I asked and then Ginny's eyes slowly opened 

"Harry...Lana" she mumbled 

"hey" we both said at the same time, which made her smile weakly, and then she noticed Harry arm as well. 

"what happened?" she asked 

"I killed the basilisk, but his fang got me and well...I'm dying" he said 

"you can't die" she said 

"yeah aren't you the chosen one?" I asked with a smirk on my face. 

"ha ha very funny" he managed to say. 

And as he did the phoenix flew back into the room and land, and walked over to us, and I didn't really think much of it.  Then tears fell from it's eyes and onto Harry's arm.  The horrible scar that was there was suddenly gone.  

"phoenix's must have healing powers or something" I said 

"yeah I guess so" he said 

"so the chosen one gets to live another day" I smiled 

Harry just laughed and so did Ginny.  

I helped Ginny up and put her hand over my shoulder, we walked back and out the door, Ron still lay there passed out.  Harry went up to him and kicked him Ron woke.  

"ow!" he snapped 

"come on" I said 

Ron got up and help me carry Ginny back to where we entered the chamber of secrets,  we also founded Lockhart. We climbed back up to the top and exited at the girls bathroom.  The only problem was Dumbledore and a few other teacher including Snape stood in front of us, and they did not look happy at all.  I smiled weakly, and Snape just shook his head. I suddenly looked at my feet. 

"come along you four and someone please look after Lockhart" Dumbledore said.
