Harry's POV

What is hell?

If anyone asked me what hell was I wouldn't answer the flames of eternal damnation. That was heaven compared to what I was going through right now. I would answer hell is distance between people who love each other.

I fell to my knees defeated. As my head dropped down I closed my eyes.

"What?" Lucifer asked titling his head. "You've given up already? That's no fun." He pouted like a little mischievous child. "I wanted to torture you more." He walked towards me and peek his face closer crossing his arms. "You've become a lot softer Harry and all because of Raiza."

As soon as I heard her named leaving that disgusting piece of shit's mouth I lost it. I leaped on him and went right for his chest and I pierced it with my hand. "Dare to say her name one more time and I'll end you." I warned him.

"Why? I'm just trying to get familiar with her since we're going to be spending hell of a lot time together. You should tell me what Raiza likes." The Devil smiled triumphantly and then licked his lips. "If you know what I mean."

"Don't say I didn't warn you." I said as I twisted my hand inside his chest and broke the tiny bottle of Holy Water I had put inside it. I quickly took out my hand as soon as I felt the liquid spreading out. I looked at it and the burning sensation spread out through my whole hand. Steam started coming out and the smell of burned flesh could be sensed. "Colateral damage." I shrugged.

"The fuck do you think you're doing!? Holy Water and... A fucking crucifix!?" Lucifer yelled angry alternating glares between his chest and me. His breathing started to get uneven and his body tensed up.

"Do you fucking think I would come here unprepared?" I said as I raised an eyebrow. "What happened, pal? Not so confident now?" I smirked and twisted my hand once more. "I know this won't kill you, unfortunately, but at least it will stung and hurt like hell." I crouched and let out a small laugh. "Look at this, the Almighty King of Hell crying like a baby just because a little splash of water and some metal symbol."

He pull out the crucifix and threw it to the ground. "Fuck." Lucifer put his hand in his chest and covered the hole. A trail of black substance coming out of his mouth.

Suddenly a ray of light landed above Lucifer and he started burning and convulsing.

"Be gone demon." A deep voice said from above.

Not even a second went by and Lucifer had disappeared.

"Don't interfere." I warned Him before turning my back.

"I think I did already." He answered back.

"The Throne never gave a damn so just go back to your fucking and don't bother me."

"Do you want to go back to hell?" He asked.

I turned around and let out a laugh. "Hell? You fucking kidding me, right?" I asked defiantly. "I AM already in hell. I've just lost the only precious thing I've ever loved in my whole damn existence and was willing to sacrifice everything just to keep her safe. Don't fucking ask me about hell or going back to it because you don't even fucking know it."

I could feel he was looking at me and trying to see right through me, analysing me. Suddenly he spoke, "do you know why is taboo for humans and spectrums to fall in love?"

"Look pal, I'm not in the mood for a lecture so safe it for someone who gives a damn."

"Harry."

I sighed and rolled my eyes annoyed. "No." I answered. "I don't know or care."

"Humans can fall in love more than one time because their hearts change. Humans' life is so short that they cannot waste it by just loving one thing." The Throne said, not paying attention to what I just had said. "But spectrums are different. They live endlessly and their heart doesn't change. They don't forget."

Suddenly Niall came to my mind. He never once forgot about Bai. He was still willing to do anything for her that even now in the present he tried to hurt Raiza to get the one he loved back. I looked up to The Throne and listened carefully to what He had to say. He had caught my attention.

"They live with the same feelings for centuries. That is s why they do not open their hearts recklessly." He continued. "A lot of them will spend their lives not loving someone, because loving and wanting someone is something too risky for a spectrum."

I remembered the time I was in denial and didn't want to admit Raiza had caught my 'heart', that I had indeed fell in love with her. She slowly won me over and before I knew it I was willing to do anything to make her love me back and make her mine.

"You were like that, were you not? You could not even think about love as something possible – mainly because you were a demon and did not have a heart. Therefore, you could not feel." He pointed out something I knew pretty well. "It is a misconception that you need a heart to love."

I nodded. "But Niall was the one who made me realise I was in love with Raiza. And help us get together. I was truly happy when I got to tell Raiza how I felt about her." The way her pretty hazel eyes widened in surprised the first time I told her I loved her, the way she would get flustered whenever I teased her, or the way her cheeks would get as red as a tomato when I called her 'angel'. "It's true Raiza and I aren't going to live at the same pace. That's precisely why the time I spend with her is of great value. I don't want to spend that time doing nothing and then regretting it."

Or at least I wanted to do so. Now that I had lost her I don't really know what I'm going to do. She's gone...

"Humans are ephemeral. They die in an instant. Our lives go by too slow as for sharing them with humans, but they're too long as for spending them alone. I wish..." I dropped my head and shut my eyes and all the memories I had with Raiza flooded my mind. I clenched my hands making my knuckles turn white. "Things would've stayed like that forever."

"She decided to save your soul, to save everyone's soul." The Throne said.

My eyes widened as soon as I heard those words. "What?" I quickly looked up at Him with a mixture of confusion and shock.

"Now you shall be vindicated, demon."

"Wait! Where is Ra-" But before I could finished a blinding white light surrounded me and everything went silent.

Everyone who has witnessed how our story has developed may think Raiza was always the one in trouble and I was the one who always saved her. But the truth is that if I had gave her a little of time before jumping in front of every danger she came across, she would have had been really capable of defending herself. She didn't need anyone to save her. Raiza had the strength and power to do it by herself because she's a strong woman.

As a matter of fact, she was really the one who always saved me.

Raiza was the one who truly saved me in the end.
