"Hi honey, I'm home!" Tyler threw his bag down on the side table by the door and walked into the house. He kicked his shoes off and left them in the middle of the room. He heard heavy footsteps running down the stairs.

"Hey Ty!" Ashley said smiling and she hopped down off of the final step. They embraced in a happy hug, and Ashley pulled away. "So. How's life?"

"Life sucks, as per usual. But you're looking cheerful. What's got you in a good mood?" Tyler asked.

"I got asked out the other day!" Ashley revealed, a giddy grin appearing on her face.

"Bitch!" Tyler play-slapped Ashley on the arm. "Why didn't you call me? Or text me? I needed to know! This is crucial information!"

"I wanted to be able to tell you in person." Ashley smiled. Tyler could see she was almost overflowing with excitement.

"So spill. Who finally asked the elusive Ashley Dun out on a date?" Ashley returned the play-slap on Tyler's side.

"Stop it. I'm not that bad of a catch."

"I never said you were a bad catch. I just said you were hard to get. Very, very hard to get." Ashley gave him another slap for good measure. Tyler chuckled.

"It was Matthew Day, on the basketball team. You know him, right?" Ashley and Tyler sat down on the couch.

"Duh, I know Matthew Day. So how'd he do it?" Tyler stood up and went to the kitchen to get a glass of lemonade.

"He just came up to me and said, 'Hey, Ashley, wanna go on a date with me Saturday?' And I said sure." Ashley went to the kitchen and sat at the counter. "Get me a glass as well."

"That's a sad way to ask someone out. You have to do it with flair. Sweep me off of my feet. Surprise me. Otherwise, you're like all of the rest." Tyler poured two glasses of lemonade and handed Ashley one.

"Says Mr. 'I Don't Need A Man Because I'm Self-Sufficient And I Can't Find One That Fits My Idealistic Expectations'."

"When I find the perfect man, then I'll date someone."

"Well I guess someone's gonna be alone forever." Ashley chuckled.

"We'll see about that."
