It has been hours since I read the letter and the casino was now closed. I was tired and resting in bed, wondering how far away my American man was, how long I'll have to wait to see his blue eyes, his perfect smile, and hear his laugh, his voice.
I sigh thinking of these things, I slight smile appearing on my face as I close my eyes. I could just imagine him here with me, holding me close to him as we lay in bed. I can just hear his sweet heart beating as my head lays on his chest. How I wish for a good nights rest again.
There was a knock on my door and I jump up in shock and excitement. I looked out my window to see if I could tell who it was, looking around, hoping it was Alfred. I run down to the door and open it. My smile fades, "oh, good afternoon." I great him. It was Alfred's brother, Matthew.
"Sorry for bothering you so late but I hear my brother was coming back to town and I was wondering if he was here yet." He peers his head into the doorway and looks around before walking in.
"Oh, no. He hasn't arrived yet. I was actually hoping that he was the one at my door this evening." I tell him with slight sadness in my voice.
"Well, sorry to hear that, eh." He smiles before continuing through my house and I follow, "do you mind if I say until he arrives?"
"Sure but I only have one-"
"Thank you so much, you know I haven't been away from him this long, it's hard for me-" He stops and looks at me, "oh, sorry I cut you off, what were you saying?"
"I only have one bed." I tell him, "I'm alright with staying on the couch if you'd like, I don't mind at all."
"Oh no, don't me such a stranger, eh." He smiles wide, reminding me of his American brother, "we can share, I don't mind."
"That's very kind of you, Matthew, but I should really-"
"No, it's alright." He cuts me off again, "I sleep better with someone by my side anyways. Sorry for cutting you off again, eh?"
"It's quite alright and if you insist-"
"I do."
"Well alright then." I smile lightly and lead his to the bedroom, "right this way."
"Thank you, you're such a gentleman."
