Chapter 20(extra chapter)

Matthew's POV

"Why are we going on a fancy date again?" I ask Gilbert as he continues to drive down the highway.
"It's our one year anniversary from meeting each other, that's why. Plus I'm just trying to be an awesome boyfriend like I have been for the past ten months." The red eyed man smiled.
"Okay mister hot shot, whatever you say, eh?" I joke and hold his hand as he drives.
"That's mister awesome hot shot to you." He kisses the hand that he was holding and laughs.
Once we got to the restaurant I breathed out heavily, "I hope I'm not over dressed." I look at my Prussian boyfriend who was now getting out of the car, "Gil?" He peeked his head into the doorway and looked at me, "do you think I look bad?" I ask him nervously.
"Don't be ridiculous, Birdie. You look never look bad." He reassured me with a smile.
"You're a flatterer, Gil." I smile widely and get out of the car.
As we sat at our table I could tell there was something off. We ordered our food and his voice was shaking, he was playing with his thumbs, he would barely look in my eyes. I asked him what was wrong and he replied with, "noth-thing I couldn't be happier. I g-guess I'm just nervous about th-the price, it's expensive here." I just nodded, of course that was what it was.
Dinner was almost over, I was just finishing my brownie I got for dessert. I look up at Gilbert, who had his hands in his pockets. I looked at him curiously then he stood up, "Gil-"
"Matthew, just sit, okay?" I nod as I blush and he goes on one knee, "Birdie, I love you and the way we met was so weird but... awesome," he laughs nervously and I smile, my eyes starting to tear up, "you, you're adorable and funny... you're perfect in my eyes and really smart. Um, anyways, Matthew Williams... will you marry me?" He held out a ring in front of me.
"Yes, yes of course I will." I smile widely, fall onto him and kiss him, people around us clapping and cheering.
