Alfred and I had gone to the café this afternoon for a lunch meal while the weather was still nice. It was the usual place I went for tea on days like this and the first place I saw Alfred.
I remember where he sat, what he wore, his loud obnoxious laughing. He wore his hair messy that made him look like rubbish that day. Ever since we met after he's always had his hair fixed up nicely.
It feels like it was only a few days ago but it was almost over a year now. Almost over a year of me knowing this wanker git of an American man who sits before me. How absolutely idiotic I sound.
Today was a very important day for me, and very nerve racking too. I had a big plan, well not a big one but a plan at the least. I didn't know how I was going to do it or when but I had to today, I want it to be today. I was going to ask Alfred Jones to be my significant other. I am so nervous.
"Coffee coffee-feee." The blonde man starts to jitter and look around as he sits across from me and speaks.
"I don't know how you could be so impatient about such a nasty thing you call a drink." I tell him with a neutral face.
"Oh quiet, old man. You're getting a tea, dude, that's nasty." He jokes with a laugh. I just roll my eyes and smile lightly, "I love your smile, you know?"
"Really now?" I blush lightly as he tells me that, my smile getting a bit bigger.
"Yes, really. It's so cute." He leans forward, his elbows on the table and his head laying in his hands, a huge smile on his face.
"Well, thank you. I enjoy your smile as well."
"Maybe you should smile as much as me then." Alfred tells me.
"Why should I do that?" I raise an eyebrow curiously.
"So we can be happy and smiley together." The American shrugs.
We were now done drinking our drinks and we were about to head off home. This was my moment to do it, to ask him. I breathed out heavily as we stand up to leave then look at the man I was going to ask. He was handsome as usual, he's blue eyes shining with happiness and coffee buzz, "Alfred?" I ask him as we walk out the door to the pavement.
"Yes?" He asks looking at me.
"Do you want to-" last second I change my mind, I'm too nervous, "go see a film?"
"Yeah, dude! I'd love to!"
