Scenario number five

Special Characters : Principal Benjamin, Janitor Xenia, Matthew, John, Darren, Alexa, George

"Come on, Lex. You've been crying a lot, tell me what's wrong," George tries to pat Alexa's back but fails since Alexa moved away from him.

"The world is so cruel!" Alexa sobs, as if she's talking to herself. She doesn't want to face George, too broken to explain why.

"Don't say that, it's already lunch time." George frowns, "come on, let's go to the cafeteria....."

"I wish the world will just shut up." Alexa whispers to herself, quickly exiting the classrooms leaving George behind.

George can't help but follow her. Lex.... what's up with you? He sighs, worried and concerned. Alexa started crying a week ago in class, and he's been comforting her ever since even when she couldn't tell him why. During class time, he can't even muster enough strength to take down notes due to worry.

He and Alexa have been together for so long. They met when George was in eighth grade and Alexa in ninth. Even though they went through a lot of shit together, they're certain that they're sure of each other. Alexa hasn't been in good terms with her family ever since she got held back in school because some things came up that made her miss a school year.

"I'm not letting you go without a fight." George mumbles to himself with determination to keep his girl.

"Lunch is my favorite part of the day." Darren Beethoven exclaims to his best friend, John Blake, a huge grin spreading across his face as they make their way to the school cafeteria.

"It's only because you get to stare at Matthew's girlfriend, even though you do it a lot in class," John grunts bitterly, "I suggest you pay more attention to our discussions since it's almost finals."

"You mean, Matthew's EX-girlfriend," Darren winks, "they're no longer together starting this morning when Gemma found out that Matthew was cheating on her."

John's eyes widen. "That means you have a chance to retrieve her heart." He pouts, "at least one of us is lucky."

"It's okay, John," Darren comments with a smile, "you can still retrieve McConnell's heart in no time."

"I don't want to, okay? She's dating Alvin, and I can't compete with that." John rolls his eyes, trying to sound like he doesn't care about May anymore. "She's happy with him, and if he makes her happy, then I'm happy for her."

"It's because you never make your move!" Darren groans, ignoring what John said about May and Alvin. "What about we'll sit with May and Gemma for lunch before Alvin arrives? Maybe you can start a conversation with May and I can start one with Gemma."

John hesitates, but gives up eventually, "I like the sound of that, Wren. Let's go."

The two boys rush to the cafeteria, not knowing that someone has been eavesdropping on their conversation the whole time.

Darren and Gemma? John and May? This school's really weird. The janitor sighs.

"Finally! It's no longer crowded." Principal Benjamin cackles, "tell me, Xenia, isn't it peaceful?"

Xenia continues mopping the dirty floor filled with shoe prints, ignoring the principal.

"So do you have any dirt?" The principal asks Xenia, who drops the mop excitedly.

"Harry Morris and Eleanor Rogers got into a fight—"

"I'm not surprised." The principal chuckles, it's normal for him to be hearing rumors about Harry and Eleanor fighting with each other.

"John Blake is going to make a move on May McConell, who's dating Alvin." Xenia continues, "also that Darren boy is planning to hit on Gemma, who just broke up with Matthew—"

Principal Benjamin hollers. "THEY BROKE UP!?"

"Good afternoon." Matthew greets Xenia and the principal politely, who's most likely
making his way to the cafeteria alone.

He's no longer with Gemma. "Oh Matthew my love... Good noon indeed, right?" Principal Benjamin chuckles flirtatiously.

Matthew grins, "Um, yeah. I better get going, bye!" Then he disappears, rushing his way to the cafeteria.

"He is so into me." Principal Benjamin chuckles, looking at Xenia, who's carefully examining him.

"Isn't Matthew still a young boy for your age?" Xenia raises an eyebrow quizzically.

"A hot boy," Principal Benjamin giggles.

"And you aren't supposed to act like that, you're the principal of Harcott High." Xenia adds with a weird look on her face.

"Rule Number One of this school is to be yourself." Principal Benjamin winks at Xenia and walks away, swaying his hips with boldness.
