A/n: Everyone needs to watch this video. It's Will Roland singing about a cookie and it's freaking beautiful.
I'm also sick with a stuffy nose and its really annoying. Anyway...on with the story:
-Connor POV-
The next day, Connor was eating breakfast at the dining table with his parents and Zoe. Zoe got up to grab the milk carton from the refrigerator, but a scream of frustration sounded from the kitchen, "MOOOOM! CONNOR FINISHED THE MILK!"
She came back to the table and shook the milk carton upside down, not a single drop left.
"There wasn't any milk in the first place," Connor defended himself.
"Liar!" Zoe sunk down heavily onto her chair.
Their fight was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. Cynthia got up and walked to the front hall to get the door. Connor didn't think much of it. It was probably the mailman or salesperson. His mom said to the person, "I'll calm him for you now."
"Connor!" She called for her son. "There's an Evan here to see you! Why don't you come in, Evan?"
Connor heard Evan's voice coming closer now, "Thank you. Your house sure is n-nice..."
Connor went to go meet his crush. Evan brightened at seeing Connor, "Connor! I wanted to give you this." He handed him a small envelope.
Connor flipped it over and inspected it, "What is it?"
"It's an invitation. To my birthday party. L-later today."
"I'll be there," Connor assured him.
"Great!" Evan grinned adorably and then turned to leave.
"Wait!" Connor said, making Evan spin around. "Do you want to walk to school with me?"
"Definitely!" Evan said with shining eyes.
How was he making Connor fall even more in love with him? He didn't even think that was possible, but it was happening. Connor ran back to the table to grab his satchel. Zoe winked at him and shot him finger guns. Connor just rolled his eyes and blushed, before hurrying out the door with Evan beside him.
Connor realized that both times he had walked to school were because of Evan. It was a nice change to escape his chaotic family.
"How are your hands?" Evan said as they completed their first block.
Evan was so thoughtful, that Connor couldn't help grinning like an idiot, "Much better."
Evan gave him a relieved smile. Connor hands were yearning to hold Evan's. He would give anything just to give him a peck on the cheek.
"So you're eighteen, huh?" Connor watched Evan staring at the trees as they passed them. Evan was so distracted that he didn't even notice what Connor had said.
Connor coughed slightly, "Ahem."
Evan was shaken from his gaze, "Oh! I'm so sorry! Can you repeat what you said?"
Connor didn't mind at all. It was a small mistake and Connor could never stay mad at Evan. He was kind of glad he had a chance to rephrase his question because it sounded stupid out loud anyway. "What do you want me to get you for your birthday?"
