Annabeth's P.O.V.
I was so excited to see the St. Louis Arch because I wanted to be an architect. I critiqued what could've been done better and I was spouting facts about it to the boys when I turned around I found them eating candy instead of listening.
"Really, I've been telling you guys all about the arch and your eating candy," I said angrily, I was upset I thought they would at least pretend to listen
"Sorry Annabeth it's really hard to listen when Grover here is all wound up," he said, I was worried Grover's on edge most times, yes but he's really on edge meaning he smelled monsters
"Grover do you smell monsters is that why you're on edge" I whispered he nodded and I looked at Percy "Maybe we should get out of here"
"It's fine didn't you tell me before Grover that underground always smelled like monsters," Percy said
"Yeah it's probably nothing, but we should at least keep an eye out for trouble" Grover muttered
"All right let's go to the top then I want to see the view of the city," I said when I spotted the elevator I started walking towards it and we went up, I glanced over at Percy and saw that he was pale height? No he's close enough to the ground that Zeus wouldn't blast him then it hit me we're in a confined space he probably doesn't like it
"It's gonna be ok" I reassured him he relaxed a little just a slight bit then the elevator opened and we exited the lady with the Chihuahua came over
"No parents?" she asked I quickly replied
"They're afraid of heights" she had an evil glint in her eye, about 10 minutes later the ranger announced that they would be closing some and Grover got on the elevator when Percy tried to get in the ranger stopped him
"No more room you can go down the next time" I started to get out
"Ok we'll wait for you" he shook his head
"No go ahead I'll meet you down there" and with that, the doors closed and we went down
Lilith's P.O.V.
I hate my Uncle he allowed me to help twice not counting the time with Medusa, and so being blessed by Athena I was wise and decided not to help my brother with the problem they had at the time. They were at the top of the St. Louis Arch with Echidna that might I add my Uncle Lord Zeus sent
"Father isn't it bad enough Zeus sent terrible monster and her after me why can't he give Percy a break" I complained, I rarely complain but I didn't think it was fair that Percy had to deal with monsters sent by Zeus when it was bad enough Hades was sending monsters after him
"It is but I can't do much since Percy's at the mercy of all the gods, and might I add that I don't want to do anything because Zeus can kill you or not allow you to leave Olympus, right now I can't do much without having your and Percy's lives at the mercy of Zeus" my father said "And at least he is allowing us to see your brother's quest"
As I watched my brother face Echidna and her son the Chimera I noticed he was doing pretty good until I realized the family and park ranger were still there, I know I should've helped but my father wasn't allowed to help Percy and I'm only allowed to help 2 more times I needed to save those
I watched in horror as my brother plunged 630 feet out of a hole that was made in the battle towards the Mississippi River he was smoking, and the Echidna and Chimera went away but the thing still remained if Percy survived which he would survive unless he fell out of the hole because he was dead, he would be a fugitive
When my father told me he wasn't dead I asked a water nymph to tell Percy to meet me at the Santa Monica Pier because I would help him, she told him and he came out of the water and met up with Annabeth and Grover, they got on the train a few minutes before it pulled out of the station and they headed to Denver
