Bing sat at the table, fingers laced together, holding his chin up. He watched with a small smile as (Y/N) ate some crackers and cheese. She was smiling slightly, and drank a glass of milk. Google stood in the kitchen, drinking coffee in a very grumpy manor. He didn't like the fact that Bing was here, and seemed to be staying for the time being. He wasn't happy about it one bit, but (Y/N) seemed to enjoy his company. Maybe it was because, well... He was charming with humans, in his own, annoyingly stupid way.
"Hey, Bing? How long are you staying?"
Google growled. "He's leaving in a few minutes."
Bing merely laughed. "Me? Leaving now? No, you are mistaken, Google. I'll leave when I see fit."
Google huffed, his shoulders hunching, and turning his back to Bing and (Y/N).
(Y/N) frowned, watching Google with worry. They were confused, not too sure as to why Google was acting like that. Bing was like Google, right? Shouldn't they be getting along? They took the last bite of cracker and cheese, munching on it with thought. Their thoughts slid towards their parents, and they frowned. Did they not really matter? Or were they less important than each other? They rested their chin on their hands folded on the table, staring at their glass. How strange was it that someone like Google found them? Took them in? He didn't seem happy about it, but then again, he always seemed really grumpy. Maybe... maybe he didn't have a lot of friends, or family. (Y/N) lifted their head, and studied the back of Google's head.
"I'll be your friend," they blurted out, then sucked in a breath. Google looked back, frowning, and Bing gave them a puzzled expression. (Y/N) leaned as far back in their chair as possible, face burning with embarrassment. They chastised themselves silently, wishing that they'd look away, and pretend that nothing happened.
"Friend?" Google asked. "Why would you say that?" Honestly, he as curious. Friend... what would make that child think he'd need a friend? He unconsciously reached up, twirling a finger around a lock of long-ish hair. He felt content enough as it was. Friends were something that dragged you down, forced your attention away from important tasks at hand. He could see (Y/N) wanting a friend, but him? No. They'd only get in his way.
(Y/N) shifted uncomfortably in their seat. "W-well," they paused. "You... always seem really upset for no reason."
Bing leaned back in his chair, draping an arm over the back of it.
"So, I thought, that maybe you were lonely. A-and I could be a good friend. I've never really had friends before, but I can try," with each word, (Y/N)'s voice became louder, a little more excited.
Bing smiled, but didn't say anything. He glanced back at Google, who shifted his confused gaze down to his. Bing motioned his head to (Y/N), indicating that an answer of some kind was needed.
Google coughed slightly, setting his mug down. "I... don't really need a... friend, (Y/N)," the word almost felt alien, uncomfortable on his tongue. He grimaced. "Thank you, but I'm quite alright."
(Y/N)'s face fell, but they forced a small smile back on it. "Oh. Yeah. Sorry," they looked around for some way to escape the uncomfortable room, then stood. "I... gotta pee!" They rushed down the hallway, and slammed the bathroom door shut. They breathed out, not knowing what to do with the disappointment they felt.
Bing sighed, standing. "Now look at what you've done, Google."
He sighed, finished his coffee, then rinsed out the mug in the sink. He mumbled. "And what have I done, Bing?"
"You really are dense," Bing murmured. "You hurt (Y/N)'s feelings, Idiot."
Google glanced over to Bing, suddenly disinterested. "I hurt their feelings? Well, that's too bad. If that hurt them, then I wonder what they felt when they realized their own family abandoned them."
Bing frowned, yellow eyes narrowing. "You're such a scumbag."
Google brushed past him, heading to his room. Bing followed.
"What are you going to do with them? Gonna keep them?"
Google stopped, mid-step, and almost laughed. Keep a child? How... how utterly ridiculous. He turned to Bing, smirking with amusement. "Now, who's the stupid one?"
Bing stiffened, taken aback. With a huff, he tugged on the collar of his jacket. "So, you're just gonna dump them off somewhere? Either let them die, or have them be picked up by someone less than friendly?"
Google nodded, sitting at his desk. He pulled up a window, resting his chin in his hand. "Yep. That's the plan."
Bing stared at Google. Not another word was said between the two. Rage, and disbelief rolled in his stomach at Google's words. He wasn't programmed very well, he knew, but those updates should've made things better. Of course, they have. Google, the old Google, wouldn't have given (Y/N) a second glance, and continued on, but still. His morality should've been at least a little higher. With clenched fists, he spun on his heel, then froze, eyes widening. "(Y/N)..."
(Y/N) stood there in the hall way, eyes wet with fresh tears. Their hands shook at their sides, and they stared at Bing. They heard every. Single. Word.
"Google... he's gonna leave me...? Like Mommy, and Daddy?"
Bing didn't move-couldn't move. He hadn't heard (Y/N) leave the bathroom, and he should have. "He," he trailed off. What was he supposed to say? The damage was done, there was nothing he could do to soften the blow of what Google said. They did trust him, after taking them home for the night, and taking them home, but then bringing them back when they saw that their parents were gone. They felt like he cared, at least a little.
They looked down, hair moving into their face. The pain and hurt in their body was enough to make Bing's synthetic heart break. "I-It's okay. I understand," they spun, then ran out. Bing heard the front door open, then the patter of feet on cement.
After a second, he blinked, then turned back to Google. "Asshole," he hissed, before taking off after (Y/N).
Google sat in his chair, staring at the spot that Bing was just at. His eyes were wide, and he blinked a few times. He heard (Y/N), and or some reason, what they said hurt him.Just a little.
