“You got caught stealing!? You PABO! Why didn’t you tell me before? We could of got out of here!” Chunji screamed. “You know what this means? They’ll search the island until they find you! The security here is tight, they could track you down with dogs or something.” ChanHee slapped him on the leg a couple times and fell to the ground hopelessly.
“Dogs, yeah right. Just wait until you see a policeman with a pack of dogs in front of him. We’re gonna get out of here, okay? We have to find a boat and then we’ll leave.” LJoe argued in his ‘conscious sleep’ trance.
“And how are we supposed to do that? Jiyong’s ship left.” ChanHee contended.
“We actually have to look for a boat. Oh, I remember now. There’s a fishing boat docked on the peer. We could leave through that.” Byunghun mentioned. LJoe yawned and left the cave momentarily. He looked around tentatively, wary to weather or not there was a pack of dogs sniffing him out by searching policemen. There’s no dogs or policemen, I’m fine, he thought. Coming back, he walked quickly and all of a sudden, slipped on the cave’s moist floor. ChanHee saw this and slid across the cave to catch him. He caught his upper body and caressed his head in his hands. So clumsy, ChanHee thought, hauling the blonde into a standing position. Byunghun kissed ChanHee’s cheek and returned to his task. Frowning, ChanHee simply stood there with his lips in a straight line. How am I going to live much longer? This blonde freak is tripping on the floor! ChanHee thought. LJoe insisted that ChanHee enjoy his last moments here before their tedious and stressful criminal lives began once again. Plainly, the brunette laid and stayed like that for a while. It’s time for us to go back, why can’t we stay here longer? ChanHee thought. Byunghun leaned and kissed him on the cheek, knowing that his escape from the world was being driven into the harsh reality they lived in. His dreams were shattered by this minuscule event because if they were caught, they were doomed. The decision was for the best, so an escape had to be made. Running away from paradise was like rejecting all the money in the world. But, it had to be done for their safety. Their identities depended on it. Preparing for their departure, they packed up their belongings. Chunji kept the plush rabbit secure under his clothes and zipped up his suitcase. LJoe remarked on the need of more food, so after they packed up they would buy some. Heading out, they admired their last looks of the waterfall in its beauty. Running water fell off the steep cliff and into the mini pond, clearing into small ripples of water. LJoe felt that they would be accompanied by another presence if they were to linger at the area any longer and advanced on. The shorter man wore different clothing since the pickpocketing day and switched scarves with ChanHee. They also switched hats and glasses. LJoe tagged behind ChanHee the whole walk to the market, holding his hand secretly. Arriving at the food store, they entered and picked several snacks and drinks to sustain them for a bit. At the counter, LJoe paid a fraction of the amount of leftover money he had. Ostensibly, he still had a lot of won left to buy other goods. They took off from the market and idled on the streets. LJoe clung his arm around Chunji’s and thought, is it possible that I could get some more won? Yes it is. I’ll take some more for my greedy self. Hahaha. LJoe detached his arm from Chunji’s and faltered behind him. An old lady wearing a long fur coat had her purse hanging loosely on her forearm. This looks like an easy catch. He evaded the woman’s wallet and rummaged languidly for her wallet. It has to be in here somewhere… He felt a large rectangular object and pulled it out easily. What? A phone? How can they be this thick!? The old lady turned around and gasped. It’s the old lady from yesterday! She reclaimed her phone and yelled, “Thief! There’s a thief!” Chunji was strolling along and heard the old woman’s cries. Turning around, he saw what the commotion was about. LJoe was running to him and there was a mob of people behind him. “Let’s go!” LJoe yelled. He ran past Chunji, the mob following close behind. Taking action, he chased after him, looking like he was part of the crowd. LJoe made a sharp turn right to a nearby beach about two hundred yards away. Tagging directly at the heels of the criminal, the raucous swarm remained on the same semi-fast pace. They wouldn’t let their guard down since the group was composed of some enraged men and decisive teenagers. About one hundred years in, the old men began to lose their steady momentum. LJoe reached the beginning of the beach and dashed on the sand. Chunji followed suit and was at the head of the horde and the rest of the people were decelerating. The brunette tried to imitate the people as much as he could and the mob, except for Chunji and a few teens, got tired. What am I supposed to do with these kids with me? ChanHee thought. There was two teens willing to pursue the crook, both suggesting that they were not going to give up on this chase. LJoe already was at the dock when Chunji said to the two boys that he would be responsible and take care of this and told them that he would bring the criminal to justice. Seeming true enough to believe that the criminal was going to jail, the two branched off and headed back to the city. ChanHee carried on and met up with his partner to a foul-smelling, small-scale fishing boat. The smallest fishing boat I’ve ever seen, he thought, standing next to LJoe. Standing next to the blonde and brunette was a short man, shorter than Byunghun, with rubber gloves and boots, wearing a draping coat and baggy pants. He was old in his appearance and had grey hairs poking out of his almost bald head. LJoe introduced the man to ChanHee and they did a proper greeting.
