Chapter 47

"We brought a little peanut into this world."

Shay's P.O.V

"It's a boy." That's all I heard the doctor say after hours of labor. "You two have a baby boy."

"It's a boy." Michael squeezed my hang tight before he kissed the top of my head. "Shay, we have a boy."

"Oh my god." I was crying. "We have a baby?"

"We have a baby."

The nurse was in the corner of the hospital running the initial tests on the baby & cleaning him up but then I was handed him all bundled up.

"Michael." I looked up at him, he was crying as well. "Look at our baby boy."

"He's perfect."

"He's so tiny." I rubbed my finger against his cheek. "Michael, you're a dad."

"You're a mom."

"Wow."

"We'll give you some time to meet your newborn." One of the nurses told us. "We'll be back in a little bit to get some information for the birth certificate if you're ready for a name & check other vitals."

"Okay, thank you, thank you so much." Michael said to her.

"Michael, we have to name him."

"Well we have our list of boy names we like."

"What do you think he looks like?" I asked him. "What do you think?"

"I think he looks like a Ben, well Benjamin."

"Yea, I think so too. What about Benjamin Shawn Clifford?"

"Yea." Michael put his hand over Ben's little hat. "I think that's the name."

"Here, you should hold him." I lifted Ben up. "Hold your son."

"I don't want to take him from you too soon."

"No, no. Take him. Hold him. He has been inside me for nine month. You hold him."

"Hi little guy, I'm your dad. & I'm going to be the best dad ever, I promise."

"Sorry to disturb you." A nurse came back in a few minutes later. "But you have quite a crowd ready to meet you son. I went out & told them everything went smoothly but I think they're getting impatient. Can I sent them in?"

"Yea." Michael answered. "They're family. They can come in."

So in walked Luke, Calum, Ashton, Carter, Emma & Payson.

"Everyone, meet Ben." Michael walked over to them with our son in my hands. "Our baby."

"Oh my god." Carter walked up to him. "He's so small. He's beautiful, you guys. Congrats."

"Our first 5SOS baby." Ashton patted Mikey on the back. "Congratulations, Mike."

"Well look at that. Our family is expanding." Emma went to touch his little nose. "He's beautiful."

"Isn't he cute? He has a lot of hair." I saw Michael lift up his hat.

"Wow his hair is dark." Carter observed. "That's great."

Everyone took their turns holding our son & then they left us alone to be with him. A nurse took Ben to do a few more little tests & then she completed the birth certificate.

"Did you want me to put him in the nursery at all?" The nurse asked. "In case you both needed rest? Otherwise we'll leave a little bed for him in here."
