[6] New Corey
Corey was beaming as he drove back to work. He felt good after sharing a kiss with Raye. Maybe it was the fact that she reciprocated his kisses and didn't try to push him away. It gave him hope that they still had a chance together.
He stopped and grabbed something to eat and went back to his office. He was stuffing his face food while checking his emails when Arian walked into his office.
"So I was thinking that I could have an encore of yesterday's performance," she said as she locked his office door. She started taking her clothes off as she walked toward Corey. He swallowed his food and closed his eyes. He looked like a small child that walked in on his mother naked.
Don't look, don't look, Corey chanted. "Arian put your clothes back on."
She laughed. "Why should I? You liked my clothes off yesterday."
"Today is a new day."
Arian was confused. "Corey what's going on with you? If you're worried that I'm looking for a relationship you can rest your fears, I just want to have a little fun."
Corey still kept his eyes shut. He didn't want to look at another woman. "I can't do this with you. I'm taken." Technically he wasn't taken but he wasn't going to explain it all to Arian.
Arian grabbed her shirt from the floor. No man has ever denied her and she didn't like the feeling of rejection. "Were you taken yesterday when you were fucking me on your desk?"
"No it started today."
"Well I know how to keep a secret Corey." She didn't mind being the chick on the side.
"It's not happening Arian."
She put her shirt on and walked back to the door. "You're missing out Corey."
He waited until he heard the door open and close before opening his eyes again. He wasn't going to see or touch another woman besides Raye.
:
Hours later Liam laughed when Corey relayed what happened between him and Arian. Liam dropped by on his apartment on the way from work and he and Corey were lounging on the couch talking.
"That shit isn't funny."
"It is," Liam chuckled. "I wish I could've been there to see Corey Gibson refusing to see a beautiful naked woman."
Corey took a swig of his beer. "I had to. I'm really going to try and win Raye back. I can't do that messing with other women."
"So you aren't going to skeet on anyone else?" Liam thought it was impossible. Since Raye, Corey had a different bed partner every week.
"No skeeting, fucking, touching, licking, kissing, fingering....or anything else sexual."
"Really?
"Yeah really," Corey repeated. "I'm becoming celebrant."
Liam laughed so hard he fell to the side of the couch... "You mean celibate you dumbass. How many beers have you drunk?"
Corey look at the beer in his hand. Shit he really didn't know. "You know what I meant. I'm going to get her back Liam. I love her."
Liam never doubted that Corey loved Raye. "What about her boyfriend?"
Corey didn't care about him. "Who?"
"You know who. Stop stuntin Corey."
He sighed, "I have this time with Raye without any interruptions from Enrique Iglesias, and I'm hoping that she realizes that I'm the better choice. That week in Vegas needs to be perfect."
"What do you have planned Corey?"
He gave Liam a kool-aid smile. "A lot and you're going to help me."
:
Raye was in the guest room packing her suitcase when Reagan arrived home from work. Reagan put down her purse and approached her sister. "I thought you were staying a few days?"
"I can't. If I do Corey will come back looking for me."
"Do you owe him money or something? Is he going to come with a goon squad and wipe you out?" Reagan teased.
Raye didn't find it funny. "I can't be around him and Liam talks too much. I bet Corey already knows that I lied about leaving."
Reagan noticed that Raye was acting out of character. Since when did seeing Corey put her in a panic? "What happened when he came to see you? Did he upset you again?"
No the complete opposite. "I let him kiss me Reagan." Raye admitted quickly. "5 years of not seeing him and he walks into the room and kisses me and all of my feelings of being hurt disappeared. I'm so pathetic."
Reagan comforted her sister. "You're not pathetic. I just think that Corey has that affect on you. He was your first love Raye. He's always going to have a part of your heart."
"He broke my heart. I shouldn't have any feelings for him." She couldn't allow her heart the chance to be broken again. "Would you stay with Liam if he cheated?"
"You know I thought Liam cheated on me in high school."
"Yeah but he didn't."
"Let me finish Raye. I was miserable without him and despite everything I still wanted him. I think that if he had sex with another woman and it was a onetime situation then we could work it out," Reagan confessed. "It would be different if he repeatedly cheated on me or fell in love with someone else. I think people make mistakes and they deserve second chances."
"So you think I should forgive Corey?"
"I think that's for you to decide." Reagan thought it was peculiar that Raye didn't mention anything about Sebastian. "Just because you forgive Corey doesn't mean you have to be with him. He'll always be your first love but he doesn't have to be your last love."
Raye sat down on the bed and took a deep breath. She felt conflicted by the situation. "I hate men."
Reagan laughed. "You could always switch sides. Dad always wanted a son."
"He has sons. Liam and Damon."
And Corey. Reagan silently added. Their dad still spoke to him on occasion. "So what are you going to do?" Reagan asked Raye.
"I'm going to finish packing and then I'm driving to see our grandparents. Then I'm going back to Miami to finish helping Reese with the wedding. I am putting my thoughts of Corey to side. I don't have to see him until Vegas."
Raye finished packing and was headed out when there was a knock at the door. She opened it and observed a older white male holding a large bouquet of flowers. "Are you Raye?" he asked.
She nodded her head. "Yes."
"These are for you." He stated before handing her the bouquet of roses. She said thank you but the delivery man stopped her from closing the door. "Miss there's 4 more bouquets."
Raye watched him reach down and pick them up. Reagan came to help collect the roses. 5 dozen in total.
"Is there a card?" Raye asked. In the bouquet she held she couldn't locate one.
"I found it!" Reagan read the card out loud.
"5 dozen roses for the 5 years I have lived without you. Now that I have you back in my life I plan on doing everything in my power to keep you here. Have a safe trip. I love you. - Corey."
"That was sweet of him," Reagan said as she put the card down.
Raye thought it was very sweet. She didn't know what she was going to do with the situation between her and Corey. He made it obvious what he wanted but she was still confused. This is exactly why she needed to get away from Orlando and away from him.
