[27] Stay
That evening Raye went over to Liam and Reagan's apartment and told them what happened. Reagan felt horrible for her sister. She wrapped her arms around her in comfort. "Just don't give up on him."
"I'm not going to."
"Well I have something to tell you that will make you feel better."
"What?"
Raye listened as Reagan told her about meeting Jayda at the club and the disclosure that Jayda made about the past involving what happened in high school and how Heather paid her to lie during the interview. Reagan also told her about the plan. She still hadn't sent the recording to Reese.
"Don't send it," Raye stated she was angry about the situation but didn't want to be involved.
"You sound like Corey. They deserve to be taught a lesson Raye Raye."
"Reagan I mean it. Don't send it. I'm over it all. I don't want my life to involve Jayda or Heather anymore. I'm ready to move forward."
Reagan was disappointed but listened. "Fine."
Raye decided to not stay with Liam and Reagan and got a hotel room closer to Corey's apartment. She wanted to be close to him. She never gave up on Corey. She found it ironic that the roles had reverse and she was now the one chasing him. For the week she would stop by the job or come to the apartment to be turned away by him. She started sending him notes and emails conveying her love and asking for forgiveness only to have Corey not respond.
It was obvious that he was still upset with her but she was hoping to win his heart again.
:
"You need to give her another chance Corey."
He took a swig of his beer and shook his head. "I don't know about that. I'm tired of the back and forth. What if something else happens? Is she going to leave again? My heart and mind can't take it," he replied honestly. He wasn't ashamed to show his vulnerability in front of Liam. "She hurt me man. I can't go through it again. She only came back because the recording of Jayda. How long have I been saying that I never cheated on her? She should've believed me from the beginning."
Liam understood Corey's feelings but since the breakup he and Raye have been miserable. She was staying with them and desperately wanted Corey's forgiveness. "Corey stop being so hard on her. If you love her you would give her another chance."
Corey wasn't trying to hear it. He drunk the rest of his beer and stood up from the couch. "Don't you have a girl to get home to?"
Liam got the hint and left the apartment. Corey was tired so he went to shower and planned on getting into bed afterwards. He walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and headed to the bedroom to get dressed. He was in the process of putting on some basketball shorts when he heard his front door open and close. Corey found a shirt and put it on before going to the living room.
"Liam I told you I don't want to talk about Raye!" he shouted while slipping the shirt on.
"It's not Liam."
Corey rounded the corner and saw Raye standing there. Even though he was angry at her he could admit that she looked gorgeous. "What are you doing here?"
