BANG. BANGBANG.

The noise at the front door was not your usual knock. I scampered up and left R still rather out of breath, I opened the door.

"Get him and come with me now!" Nora was shouting, out of breath and doubled over. then I noticed it. she was holding a gun in her left hand, and was covered in blood. it wasn't her own.

"R! R!" I Screamed his name and he was next to me quick as you'd expect. he notice Nora before anything else.

"Nora! what h-happened! is that your b-"

"No it's not, I need your help R now, I don't understand it everything was fine then the screaming started! one of the recoverers, he. he bit one of the nurses." R grabbed Nora's hand and bolted with me following there every foot fall. we ran, gun in hand, straight into the carnage.

"Julie! turn around!" R screamed, grabbing my shoulder and yanking me towards him as a lumbering One of the walking dead threw his face forward as if to bite me. Nora fired a round into his chest without a blink.

"What is going on! I thought it was all over!" I screamed above the sound of gun fire.

"so did we, R I need you for this. I ran your blood sample this afternoon. you immune to the infection, you can be turned not again. I need you to get the biters before the arms men come in shoot a hundred rounds into the chests!" Nora was dragging us both down the infirmary corridor by the arms, straight towards the sound of a all to scarily familiar gurgling. we reached a door being held tightly shut by a male nurse who had treated me a few months back for a concussion, I think his name was Finley. there was a small glass panel on the door and behind it was one of the recovers, that's what we called them now, the ones who were all getting better. supposedly. the recovers was making such a racket it almost hurt to listen to. R looked panic stricken, eyes wide and shining.

" R, you okay?" I put my hand on his shoulder and he looked slowly away from the door to me.

" I'm fine, its just. was I like this? was I this awful around you all?" there was a pause. "no wo-ounder your all so fond of bullets." R had laughter in his voice, but it was bitter. he was bitter about himself. I didn't have a chance to respond though because Nora had already grabbed him with her gun smoked hands, by the shoulder and was starring him in the eye.

"R listen to me its important. okay! I need you to talk to him, then when he's calmed down I need you to go in there and sedate him. can you do that R." Nora still had her fingers on his shoulders, nails bitten like my own, digging it to the fabric of his shirt. R nodded silently and turned to face the door.

I watched on in ore as R spoke to the rabid, blood stained drooling mess of a human, and felt a twinge of something tugging at my heart strings. Love for the man with the black hair hanging in his eyes, and sympathy for the man with blood running into his. I was so deep in thought I hadn't even realised that Nora had raised her pistol and R was opening the door to the now docile yet deranged human man. I watched him carefully as he stepped inside, syringe of sedative in hand. R walked over to the man slowly whose eyes were now oddly clouded, he looked subdued. R put his hand gently on his shoulder. the man flinched nipping in the direction of R's fingers, R didn't even jump. he guided him slowly to the sterile hospital bed and set him down. "you will be okay." R whispered gently, stabbing the needle end into the mans wrist. they both looked down. were the needle entered there was a small trickle of human red blood.
