When the car has stopped Julie climbs out jogs round to the other side of the car and gently helps me out. We were at the medical tent, a large building all most like a very large gazebo. Julie helps me in side. "MEDIC I NEED A MEDIC OVER HERE!" Julie shouts so loud it hurts my ears but I know she means well. "Julie!" Nora is stood down the ward and looks completely taken aback "nora! Don't just stand there I need your help!" Julie barks at her friend with almost as much authority in her voice as her father. Nora takes control straight away, she takes me over to an empty bed in the ward and another nurse comes over to help her " what happened R?" Nora asked " my dad shot him." Julie said almost as if its normal. Nora nods, she and the nurse begin to take of my hoddie and shirt, when they have done so I can see the full damage of the bullet. " right Cassidy We have a high velocity wound, I need gauze needle thread and medical extraction equipment for 9mm bullet wound now." The nurse with Nora responds straight away turning abruptly and running down the hall, she must be Cassidy. " okay R I have no idea how any medicines will react to you so were going to have to extract the bullet without any sedatives so this is going to hurt... A lot." We'll isn't that great. Nurse Cassidy comes back in with a tray full of items all of which look slightly ominous Julie must read my expression because she comes over and places my hand in hers. "Just hold on if it hurts. It'll be over before you know it, I promise." She smiles down at me and I make an attempt to smile back,it must work because when I do her smile widens. Thank god that went okay. Nora and the nurse Cassidy begin to tend to the wound and I wince from the pain however nora seems completely oblivious to anything but the wound on my shoulder they begin to extract the bullet and when she removes it I almost cry out in pain, but my abrupt movement makes it worse and more of the crimson liquid begins to spill from the now gaping hole in my shoulder."Cassidy we need to fix him up. now! He's losing to much blood." Well it's a wonder how I can go from not bleeding at all to bleeding to much in under an hour but it must be important because Cassidy starts handing more and more of the strange metal tools to Nora and then she runs from the room and returns with another nurse. My head starts to feel light and a thin sheen of sweat forms making my black fringe cling to my forehead, it must be loss of blood. Julie leans down and wipes the hair from my face and gives my had a reassuring squeeze her gentle eyes boring into mine as if to let me know its all okay.
