CHAPTER SIX

"I'll see you later Isaac, thanks for the ride!" I smiled at him through the open window of his car. "Yeap, well I have to go to the office, see you  Amadea." He said as he started to drive away. I watched him fade off to the distant as I walked up the small set of steps and clicked on the doorbell.

Hearing footsteps from behind the door, I felt a short silence then the door clicked open to show a tall man, with the bridge of his nose holding his tiny spectacles and his grey hair were a shiny silver. I smiled brightly as I hugged him tightly, "Grandpa." "Amadea, thank goodness you're alright." He said in relief, hugging back.

"I missed you so much, it's been quite a while." I said as I let go. "Yes it has, come on, what brings you here? Shouldn't you be at your classes by now?" He asked. I sighed and nodded, "Yes I do, but I just had something to ask you." He nodded as he motioned me over to his living room where grandma was lounging at. "Amadea?" Grandma  let out a smile, "What brings you here?" I went over and hugged her, "I just came over to say hello and I've got something to ask grandpa about something."

"Well, I'll go make you tea." She smiled as she stood up and walked over to the kitchen, her sundress stopped just below her knees. "So Amadea, what did you need to talk about?" Grandpa asked, placing his hands in the pocket of his pants. "Well it's about Garin." I said softly, but loud enough for grandpa to hear as I took a seat on the couch where grandma had sat on. "Oh yes, I heard. Is he alright?" He asked. I let out a nod, "Yes, but he nearly got caught.  He's not safe now grandpa."

He looked down as he took a seat from the couch across mine. "Well, if we put him out to the open ocean, he'll get attacked by the sharks." I looked down as I played with my fingers, "something else happened."

"What is it?" He asked. I took a deep insufflation as I told him the enduring story, I went on about from how I keep getting this itchy feeling of drawing something uncontrolled by me to Garin being able to import energy in me. I pushed a strand of my hair behind my ear as I gazed over at him to see any sign of reaction. All I saw was his eyes staring off to thin air and he was silent.  "Grandpa?"

He muttered something audible, I couldn't make out what he was saying. "Grandpa?" I repeated as he looked at me traumatized from my story that I've told him. "Are you alright grandpa?" I asked him, now worried. "This can't be." He muttered. De ja vu all over again. I remember him saying this the first time we discovered Garin.

I watched him as he stood up and paced around. I stood up along with him and just continued to watch his every move.  "This is amazing."  He muttered to himself yet again. "Grandpa." I sighed seeming so aloof to him. "No other human being  is able to get farther than just training such a specie." He stared at me. "You know what this mean?!" He exclaimed. "What?" I whimpered slightly.

"You have the most strongest bond than any other bond in the world. Stronger than ever." He said as he quickly walked over to his desk, he pushed aside some books, resulting to it all falling off and making a loud sound on the hard wooden floor. He fumbled on turning on his old dusty computer desktop. He sat down quickly on the chair and awaited impatiently for the technology to turn on. "Come on."  He gritted under his breath.

I've never seen grandpa this solemn over something. He looked so serious as he typed furiously on the keyboard. "Grandpa, what do you mean by this bond?" I asked, utterly worried. He turned around in the chair, "A bond, you guys have this bond so big, bigger than anything else in the world." I looked at him in a dreadful way, "You guys have a bond so huge that you can't live without the other!"

Then it hit me,  "So like, he has a piece of himself in me and mine in his?" He nodded swiftly as he went back and continued to whatever he was doing on the desktop.
