CHAPTER TEN
"Breathe Amadea. Breathe." I was hypervelating. I'm having a panic attack, both from anxiety and from the thought of Garin. I looked up to see Finn standing there, trying to calm me down; but there was no way to stop me. I'm shaking and I'm terrified! I just wanted to see him, that's all I want.
"I n-need to s-see Garin!" I choked out, taking breaths in between. I was crying so hard, my hands were so cold. I knew that I probably looked like a hot mess. My parents looked at each other and back at me. "Where did you last saw him dear?"
I remembered the scenery. The police, the submarines and everything else. My head felt dizzy as I felt the need to faint. "T-the... Pie-pier." I stuttered out. "Hold on honey." My father took out his phone and dialed a number.
Finn looked at me, "Isn't Garin that friend of yours?" I nodded and sniffled, but it was hard cause my nose was blocked. "I n-need to see h-him. NOW!" I shouted loudly. Finn looked taken back as I started to push him away, trying to escape through his tight grip of me.
All Finn did was hold me tightly, making sure I won't escape. I clearly have no time for this. I grabbed his arm and bit on it; I hope I didn't hurt him too much. He yelp in pain as he let go off me, holding onto his bitten arm. I jumped out of the bed and made a run for it, again.
I ignored everyone's calls for me as I continued running; as fast as I can. I was in no way turning back. I have to see him, I need to see my Garin right now. "STOP RUNNING AMADEA!" I heard Finn's shout. I just continued, I didn't care anymore. I ran out of the hospital and continued running down the path. I didn't know where I was - I wasn't really familiar with Thouroughfare's area.
I quickly turned a right and continued my run. I ran like I've never ran before, which was possibly true. I never ran this fast and far, I'm not so much of a fan of running. It seems a lot of hard work. I continued my run as I nearly ran into a street post but I continued running, I looked back and no one was in sight. But I just continued running. I saw the waves crashing against the rock side as I followed its path - hoping it would lead to the beach which I was very familiar of.
As luck was on my hands, I saw the familiar sand and sea shore up ahead. It was around evening and I couldn't see much but whatever, I'm going to look for my Garin. "Amadea, help me.. please." I'm coming Garin, hold on tight. I mentally said, hoping he would get the message. Where are you? I asked mentally again.
"Hiding. Hiding from them."
Where?!
"By the beach."
Just as I felt as if my lungs breathe out every single drop of air, I stood in the middle of the beach, looking around, looking for a sign of Garin. "GARIN?!" I shouted not thinking straight. I quickly regretted shouting as it would drag attention and they would soon find out about Garin.
"Amadea!" I looked to my side and straight at the water, as I saw a glimpse of the familiar back fin. It was Garin! I ran quickly towards it, "Garin?!" I said loudly as his head popped out. This time, he had one huge scar along the side of his face. It stretched out from his mouth as it ended into the water; it must be that long. "Oh no." I gasped, placing my hands against my mouth. "W-what happened?" I stuttered, seeing him in this much pain - pained me too.
"I was caught again, listen Amadea. I don't have much time. They already have a feeling that I exist. They will find me eventually, but in the meantime I'll do my best to keep undercover as long as possible. I'll stay at the deepest pits of the ocean so they won't be able to find me. I'll do my very best to stay alive just for you, Amadea."
