Sa KFC.

Jamie's

I woke up with the sound of my alarm clock, I immediately fixed myself before going downstairs. I greeted both of my mom and dad with a kiss and joined them for breakfast. After eating I'm ready to go.

While I'm on the way I kept on rationalizing things, if I fall for him what will happen to me? are we still gonna be friends? How about him? what's his reaction's gonna be? I shake my head, maybe I'm not inlove with him. Siguro nasa utak ko lang ang lahat maybe I need to have a boyfriend, oh my, what am I thinking? Am I still sane? When I arrived I went out of the car and started walking. Okay Jamie, breathe in breathe out, you can get over this!

"Care to tell me, what's happening with you?" she asked out of the blue while were both heading to the cafeteria. I just sighed, it's okay to tell her right? She's my bestfriend.

"I- I think I'm falling." I said in a low voice, Parehas kaming napahinto and she looked at me wide eyed and then smiled like she already knew even before I told her.

"I knew it. It's not impossible. Sa sobrang close niyo ba naman e. besides, bagay kayo." she said grinning

"B-but Sophie, hindi pwede. Our friendships at stake here. Let's just keep this while I'm sorting things out okay? Promise me you won't tell him." She nodded then we did our secret handshake when were making a promise to each other.

"I understand. So let's eat na? I'm hungry." We both laughed bago naglakad ulit, and to our disappointment, puno ang cafeteria. Bakit parang ang dami yatang student's ngayon?

"Ang daming tao naman, tara sa KFC tayo." lumabas kami roon at sakto namang nakasalubong namin Patrick with a girl na nakakapit sa braso niya, Sophie and I just both looked at each other meaningfully.

"Where are you two going? Are you done eating?" he asked

"Nope. Puno ang cafeteria today that's why we've decided na sa KFC na lang kumain. So, we'll go ahead." I said before glancing at the girl one last time, and the girl just rolled her eyes at me, what a bitch!

"See, that's why I can't like him. He's such a playboy." I said after we ordered

"I saw it too. And that bitch, mukhang clown." She said then we both chuckled. I miss times like this, where we could both talk about some other girls imperfections, how we noticed the way they dressed or not, if it is 'bagay' or not.

We are about to eat when someone sit beside me, I arched a brow at him, what is he doing here? Where is the girl he is with?

"Why are you here?" I can't help but asked.

"Am I not allowed here? I'm your friend too right?" he said, yeah 'friend'. Note the sarcasm

"Iniwan mo ata yung kasama mo kanina." Sophie said

"Ah, yun ba? wala yun. Tsaka gutom na ko e, hindi nyo man lang ako inaya."

"How can we invite you, kung may kasama ka kanina?" i can't help but saying that

"That's why I left her." He said while looking at me intensely. Hindi ko nakayanan ang titig niya kaya nagbaba ako ng tingin. I can feel my heart pounding fast. Awkward silence followed after, it's unusual na tahimik lang si Sophie ngayon. She didn't utter a single word.

"Jm's already outside, I'll go ahead. Bye." She said before kissing my cheek then nods at Patrick, now were the one's left.

"Bakit ang tahimik mo yata? Selos ka kanina no?" my eyes widened on what he said, ako nagseselos? Hindi ah, naiinis lang ako.

"No I'm not. I'm just irritated. Napaka playboy mo. Di bale sana kung maganda yung kasama mo kaso she looks like a clown, saan mo napulot yun? Wala kang taste sa babae ha?" I retorted at him and I can see amusement in his eyes

"Hindi pala ha?" he whispered, which I can't hear clearly

"Are you saying something?"

"Nothing. Don't worry hindi kita ipagpapalit don, ikaw pa ba?"

"No, it's okay. Of course you have your life."

"if ever I find the right girl, I'll let you meet her properly." He said then winked

"Yeah, and make sure that she's not like the bitches out there." I said, but there's something clenching from my chest, parang masakit. Isipin ko pa lang na mawawalan na siya ng oras para sa akin masakit na. but who am I to stop him? Who am I to make demands? I'm just his friend, nothing more, nothing less. I felt a lump on my throat. Oh no, I won't cry, not now.

"of course, Diba nga the right person will come unexpectedly? Kaya alam kong darating at darating siya kahit hindi ko siya hanapin. Besides I won't leave you, baka mamaya magka-boyfriend ka na, edi nawalan ka na ng time sa akin paano yun? That's so unfair Jamie. Just promise me that whatever happens you'll stay by my side."

Feeling ko, hindi ako makahinga sa mga sinasabi niya, paano naman ako? What if he'll find a girlfriend? Will he stay like he wants me to? I was drowned by him, can I even recover?

"Just promise me the same." I said as I looked at him

"Yeah, I promised." He answered then he kissed my forehead
