(A/N : sorry guys I hate posting these things, but with the lack of Levi in this story I need to add some fluff somehow! And a even though the book doesn't need it---pushing thirty chapters now----I just have to post it. Enjoy the fluff! But it won't exactly be fluff, more like itchy wool...this is Levi)

It had been a few days since arriving here, and things weren't exactly going smoothly. It seemed Captain Levi had become aware of my presence, and although this was pleasing at first, I soon realized what a nightmare that was. Between getting my shit kicked in from Captain Levi and Section Commander Ness, I managed to keep up with the in-class training and exercises. Although it hurt to hear name calling from my superior, Levi, I came to take these insults as compliments to better myself.

Whilst I was cleaning the windows outside of the castle with the ruthless sun beating down my sweaty neck, I heard a stampede of horses racing through the grounds. Glancing over my shoulder, I slightly gasped upon seeing my father leading them. He's still so clueless... I watched as he dismounted the brave stallion with the other men and took long strides toward the castle doors.

He went rigid before his hand touched the door, and he paused momentarily before turning in full to face me. It was a feeling unlike any other to have my dad staring down at me. I looked up at him in wonder and nearly forgot to salute. He acknowledged me when I did.

"Cadet, I've seen you do more household chores than training. Explain," His cold blue eyes narrowed and I blinked in shock, stuttering for an explanation.

"S-Sir, these are punishments for my lack of ability to keep up with the scouts, sir!" I answered nervously, holding my salute. This is the first time we've spoken...

"Lack of ability?" He raised a thick eyebrow as he evaluated me. "I was under the impression you were a capable soldier from your testimony in court,"

"I-I am, sir!" I defended myself. "I just find myself struggling to adapt to large change! This does not dispute my capabilities as a soldier, sir, I am still the very best of the best!"

"I like your confidence, cadet," I watched a sly smile raise his lips, and for a moment I could tell he wasn't seeing me...but my mother. "I look forward to seeing you becoming a better member of the scouts. We're glad to have you onboard," I felt my heart stop at those prideful words, my body filling to the brim with warm euphoria.

My dad was proud of me? So...could I tell him?

"S-Sir!" My voice paused him from entering the door once it was open. He glanced back at me, his face as hard and cold as wrought iron.

"Yes, what is it, cadet?"

"I-I-," The words were caught in the back of my throat as I stared shakily at the many who, no doubt, fathered me into this world. His cluelessness was painful, he needed to know who I was, and what he meant to me. But why wouldn't the words come out? What was keeping me from speaking? He shifted impatiently, looking at me expectantly as I struggled, my lips shaking and my teeth clenched. I can't do it... "Thank you, sir, I'm proud to be wearing the wings of freedom just as my mother did so many years ago!!" I shouted, reclasping my hand across my chest.

His eyes glinted with recognition and he stared long and hard at me for a moment as the tears welled up in my eyes. With a firm nod, he fled into the castle followed by the soldiers after him. I had never felt such defeat as I stood idly, staring blankly at the ground. You're weak, Thalia. Spineless and weak...you can kill titans but you can't tell your own father who he is!
