Visiting Day

I gulped, I has forgotten Eric's little speech the other day about not getting too attached to our families. Maybe mine won't even come to I won't have to worry.

We then headed towards the Pit and there they were. My father and Henry.

Molly and Drew stood to the side as I left them and headed towards my dad.

"Dad!" I called.

"Peter!" Screamed Henry and ran towards me.

My dad stood there in silence.

I picked up Henry and walked towards dad, "Hey dad."

"You chose Dauntless?" He asked.

I couldn't tell if he was disappointed or angry, probably both. Considering how I lied and said I'd stay.

"Dad..." I hesitated then put down Henry.

I could see the hurt in his eyes, "I only came because Henry wanted too." He said bluntly, "My son. A traitor and a liar."

I stared at him in shock, Henry stood there staring at me with his confused big brown eyes.

"Dad, I only chose because-"

"Because we weren't good enough?" He snapped.

"Because I couldn't handle the memories of mom!" I yelled. "I wanted to tell you and I wanted to stay, it hurt lying but what else was I supposed to do? I couldn't upset you on my last day with you!" I clenched my fists.

"Then you should have joined the Abnegation if your so selfless, or better yet Amity." He rolled his eyes and took Henry's hand and left.

I stared at them as they walked into the crowd, Henry turned around to stare at me. I clenched my fists and punched a wall.

Molly then walked toward me, "So. Obviously my parents aren't coming, Drew's over there in denial so what do you say we go for a walk?" She asked.

I stared at her, "I'm really not in the mood for talking."

"Really? Because Edward's parents and little sister are over there. Would you rather be eaten alive by the guilt?" She asked.

I paused, "What guilt? I feel no remorse."

Molly sighed and turned around but I stopped her, "Molly wait! Let's go."

She turned around to look at me and smiled.

Before I knew it we were on the chasm staring down at the water. "Okay so be honest, did you really think your parents were coming?" I asked.

She shrugged, "Well I wouldn't have been suprised if they didn't show up. When my brother transfered to Amity there was no chance we would visit him. My dad called him a traitor," she looked down into the water. "But it would have been nice, your dad seemed mad when he left."

I looked at her, "He's always mad."

"Hmph, no." She rolled her eyes.

"He's mad at me for saying I'd stay when I didn't."

"Why would you promise something-"

"What was I supposed to say?! Everyone expects me to be honest, be the best! Honestly." I mumbled the last word.

Molly stared at me and smirked, "At least your expected something. My family is-was- broke, they had 6 other kids to raise, I was the middle kid and 3rd girl. I practically lived in the shadows."

"Are we really having a heart to heart?" I asked.

She shrugged, "You started it."

"So what's stage 2?" I asked.

"Changing the subject so soon?" She asked.

"Being serious." I replied.

"Something about facing our fears." She replied

The day finally ended, by the end of the day everyone seemed on the edge.

The following day, we met with the Dauntless born to begin our fear simulations. The point was to face our fears and try to conquer them, which sounds easy I'm not really scared of anything.

My name was called first.

"Take a seat," Four said preparing a syringe, "You ready?" He asked.

"Yeah, are you?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes, "Don't get to cocky."

He then injected the serum and I slowly closed my eyes.

When I opened them I was in a vaguely familiar house. Then I remembered, my aunts house who lived in Amity. We were visiting her after my mom died to thank her for her support, since she was my maternal aunt.

I began exploring the yard and opened the old chicken coop, then suddenly the door locked and I was alone with a black hen with red beady eyes, I let out a sharp scream and banged on the hen door. "Let me out!" I screamed. Then hen began multiplying and flew towards me. I screamed louder as the hens pecked my face.

Calm down. I told myself, the pain isn't even that bad. Besides no hen looks that scary...expect this one.

I then opened my eyes and I was back in the room with Four, I was gasping for air and stared at him. Four looked at me casually, "9 minutes."

"I'm not scared of a chicken if that's what your thinking!" I said.

Four chuckled, "Get the next person for me."

I then stormed out and pointed to Molly, "Your turn." I said without even looking at her, I then headed towards the dorm.
