Evelyn's POV
My brother and I are currently staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in London. Obviously we're staying in the best suite they have because we're amazing.
I lie down on my bed and wait for Colin to show up. I hear the rattling of the room door knob.
"Who is it," I asked.
"What the hell Ev, you know it's me," said Colin.
"Yes I know Colin. My goal was to irritate you."
"Congratulations it worked, now open the door."
I slowly made my way to the door and opened it.
"Are you happy now?"
Colin ignored me and walked into the room.
"Did you get it done?"
"Yeah Evelyn, she's dead," he sighed.
"You should have made her suffer longer. You know, caused some extreme pain."
"I thought you said it should be quick."
"Jesus Colin! It sometimes depends on the target. I personally like to play with mine a little but there are no rules for the ones who harm children. They deserve a long, painful death."
"That's inhumane Evelyn," he yelled.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? The moment you laid eyes on that woman, you wanted to rip her throat out and now you want to talk about being inhumane! You're pathetic Colin. You're just as weak as those humans!"
"How am I pathetic Ev? I'm pathetic because I have a heart?"
"YOU'RE PATHETIC BECAUSE YOU LET SYMPATHY CONTROL YOU! THAT WOMAN MURDERED HE FUCKING CHILD AND SHE DESERVED TO DIE!"
"Evelyn..," he started.
"NO," I yelled getting in his face. "Stop feeling sympathy for them! They are not like us and never will be! I'm tired of fighting about the same thing over Colin," I hissed.
His eyes fluttered to the floor. I grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him into a tight hug.
"I love you okay. I know this is hard but it has to be done. You need to remember that they are not innocent. They have harmed many people. Their death brings peace to their victims and that's what matters."
He nodded as I placed a kiss upon his forehead.
"I'm sorry Ev, I just feel like crap every time this has to be done. I know this gets rid of bad people and keeps us vampires from starving."
"It's okay but you have to suck it up because we have a meeting with the council."
"We're meeting with the Cult of Verbon?"
"Yes, tomorrow."
"Do you know what the meeting is about?"
"Seriously Colin? That's a dumb ass question. We never know what the meetings are about until we get there."
"Oh yeah, sorry."
"It's fine, now let's go to sleep because I'm tired as hell."
We both climb into the king size bed and drift to sleep.
