Chapter 14: Hunter

Once again, I entered my hotel room with a wide grin on my face.

"What are you smiling for," Colin asked.

"Oh, nothing," I stated simply.

"You're not smiling like that for nothing, so what is it?"

"Okay, I met the most gorgeous guy on the entire planet. He has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen and his dark hair was so beautiful," I exclaimed.

"So you have a crush on a guy named Hunter," he asked quizzically.

"Crush? I never said anything about a crush," I said slowly.

"But...," he started before he was interrupted by the vibration of my phone.

I looked down and saw Hunter's name flash across the screen.

"Okay Colin...shut up, Hunter just texted me."

"Whatever," he said completely uninterested.

Hunter: Hey Evelyn, are you currently busy?

Me: No. I'm completely free.

Hunter: Okay, I wanted to take the time to get to know you a little.

I was literally screaming on the inside once I read that message.

Me: Okay cool. What do you want to know?

Hunter: Tell me about yourself.

Me: Okay. My full name is Evelyn Rose Reed and I'm nineteen years old. I only have one brother and his name is Colin Joseph Reed and he's eighteen. We were born and raised in Portland, Oregon. We currently live on our own because our parents passed away. We travel around the world quite a bit bit but it's fun. I'm also known to be a major bitch which I won't deny. I like to have fun and just live life.

Hunter: You seem like a very interesting person and I'm sorry about your parents. :(

Me: It's okay, it's been years since it happened.

Hunter: How did they die?

I took a deep breath after reading his recent text. I'm not sure what I should tell him. Now I remember why I don't associate myself with humans. They ask too many questions.

Me: I don't really like to talk about it.

Hunter: Sorry, I shouldn't have asked.

Me: It's okay, so tell me about yourself.

Hunter: Okay, my name is Hunter Lee Bryce and I'm nineteen as well. I currently attend Seattle University. I have my own apartment near campus. I was born and raised here in Seattle with my mom. I never met my father, so he was never in the picture. Also, I work in Caffè Umbria as you already know.

Me: You don't sound so bad yourself.

Hunter: Thanks. So, when would you like to have your tour of Seattle?

Me: Are you free tomorrow?

Hunter: Yes. My whole day is free. Meet me at Caffè Umbria and we'll go from there.

Me: Okay, see you tomorrow!

Hunter: Good night Evelyn. :)

Me: Good night.

I sighed as I held my phone to my chest. I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a great day.
