Hunter and I were currently outside the Space Needle to start off my tour of Seattle, Washington.
"Okay Evelyn, this is our first stop. I want you to take in the Space Needle," he stated.
I looked up and took a long, hard look at the tall tower. It was quite beautiful to look at, the white structure looming over the many buildings around it. I loved the design of the building. It was the most unique structure I've ever seen.
Hunter began to give me details about the tower.
"The construction of the Space Needle started on April 17, 1961 and was completed on December 8, 1961. It was built by John Graham & Company and officially opened on April 22, 1962. Basically, the Space Needle is an observation tower, a landmark of the Pacific Northwest, and a symbol of Seattle. The tower is 605 feet tall and has six floors and three elevators. The tower is built to withstand winds up to 200 mph and earthquakes up to 9.1 magnitude."
I was fascinated by the knowledge Hunter had about the tower itself. We went inside the Needle and explored each of the six floors. Once that tour was complete, we moved on to our next destination.
Our second tour continued at the Seattle Art Museum. The museum was beautiful, from the dark and shiny windows to the bright lights shining brightly through each piece of glass. Hunter once again, began to educate me on the museum.
"This is the Seattle Art Museum, also known as SAM. It has three major facilities, which are: the main museum, the Seattle Asian Art Museum, and the Olympic Sculpture Park. The SAM collection has grown from 1,926 pieces in 1933 to nearly 25,000 as of 2008. These numbers have increased since 2008."
Hunter and I spent hours looking at different pieces throughout the museum. My favorite part was the Olympic Sculpture Park. It was the most interesting part of the museum tour for me.
After our time at the museum, the sun was beginning to set as Hunter led me to our last destination of the day. We eventually arrived at the Paramount Theatre.
"Okay Ev, this is our last stop."
I smiled at him calling me Ev.
"Finally, this is the Paramount Theatre. It was built March 1, 1928 and has 2,807 seats. There have been many notable performances here at the theatre. Pink Floyd performed as part of the Meddle Tour on October 22, 1971. Madonna performed her first concert here in 1985. Lastly, Nirvana performed here on October 31, 1991."
We took a few hours to observe and discuss the details of the theatre. Hunter and I eventually arrived back at my hotel.
"Thanks for the tour Hunter," I said sincerely.
"No problem. We should do it again... I mean we should hang out again," he said nervously.
"Most definitely," I whispered.
"Have a nice night."
"You too Hunter," I said and leaned in to kiss his cheek.
I walked into my room and jumped onto my bed. "Best day ever," I whispered to myself.
I finally wrote a new chapter! I'm still kinda busy with school, so I'm on a tight schedule. Anyway, I hope you liked the chapter, if so please vote.
