Chapter 16: Constantly On My Mind

Lately I've spent the past few weeks hanging out with Hunter. I'd sometimes visit him at work and we'd end up goofing off afterwards. But as of now, I've turned my focus to the main reason why I came to Seattle.

Our friend Joseph has been coming to work lately. A part of me wants to hold myself back from completing that action because everything will end. Everything with Hunter will end. Once I kill Joseph, I'll have to move on to the next person on the list.

The thought of not being able to see Hunter sends a jolt of pain through my chest. I've already come to terms with myself. I have admitted to having a crush on a human boy named Hunter Bryce.

I couldn't go a day without my mind drifting to thoughts about where he is, what he's doing, and what he's thinking about. Of course my brother Colin has to constantly tease me about having a crush on a human.

"Wow Ev! I seriously can't believe that you have a crush on a human! What happened to them being pathetic?"

"Shut up Colin! Humans are pathetic except for Hunter. He's the only exception."

"So are you going to ask him out," he questioned.

"Hell no! The guy is supposed to ask the girl. There is no way in hell that I'm making the first move!"

"Okay, chill out. There's nothing wrong with a girl asking a guy out. Maybe Hunter is shy."

"Yeah, maybe."

"Or you could push him into asking you out by making him jealous."

"That has to be the dumbest thing you have ever said Colin. I'm not doing that!"

"I'm just trying to help."

"That's sweet and all but I don't need help."

Colin shrugged and started watching CSI. I sighed trying to push any thoughts of Hunter out of my mind. I need to concentrate on what needs to be done.

I run my hands through my hair out of frustration and plopped onto my bed. I pushed myself to think about the reason I was here in Washington. Finally, thoughts of Hunter were pushed from my mind and I focused on my next objective. Joseph Parker.

Haven't updated for a while. I had to enjoy the thing that is called spring break. Anyway, I hope you like this chapter and please vote!
