"I mean, you did tell her you needed a break. That is a synonym for breaking up with someone, Ren." Ren sighed. Finn was supposed to take his side, but he was agreeing with Rey.

"Look, the point is, she was so clingly. I need some time to myself, ya know?" He hoped Finn knew. He didn't.

"No, Ren, I don't. The reason you're in a relationship is so that you can be together. You're always alone-" Ren went to argue, "okay, right now you're with me. But you get my point."

"You're not helping." Ren mumbled.

"I'm just stating how I feel."

"You're supposed to comfort me and help me find someone new or something like that." This was Ren's first relationship, and he didn't have many friends; he based this statement off of what bestfriends do in movies.

"Sorry I'm not here to be your personal motivator and wing man, Ren." Finn huffed as he grabbed his jacket and walked out of the park.

'Damnit.' Ren thought. 'Why do I always do this?' He was so good at pushing people away. Ren decided that he needed a better place to brood than a park. He grabbed his phone and started towards the closest coffee shop.

[To: Poe

How is Rey doing? Ren is pissing me off. Guy's such a punk. ]

A few seconds after the text was sent, Finn recieved  a phone call.

[Incoming call: Poe]

He answered with hesitation. "Hey?"

"Why would you be asking about Ren's ex? Did he put you up to this? You're his best friend, this is technically betrayal. You know that you're a traitor, right?" Poe barraded Finn with questions. Finn paused to see if there were any more coming, then answered.

"I am asking about Rey because Ren is salty and I want to make sure she isn't bitter. He did not put me up to this, he pissed me off. He is upset that I agreed with Rey instead of him. And yes, I understand that I have betrayed him, but honestly, I don't care."

"Well then, welcome to the dark side." And the line went dead. Even though Finn couldn't see Poe, he knew that there was definitely either a smirk or a wink with that last comment, maybe even both.

A little bit too late, Finn realized that things were about to get really complicated, really fast.
