How To Not Be A Helicopter Parent Of A Teenager:

1. Back off. Let your child breathe a little bit. I feel like I'm suffocating underneath my parent's watch and no one wants to feel like they can't take a single breath without someone breathing down their neck or taking the breath FOR them.

2. Trust your kid! That way they can have a little bit of fun and spend time with friends before being under your constant watch. If you raised your kid correctly, then you shouldn't have to worry about the dangers of the world attacking your child's innocence (if they had any to begin with). They'll be responsible enough to choose the right over the wrong and if they choose wrong, they'll be a "big kid" like they claim they are and take responsibility for their actions.

3. Quit doing everything for your kid. My mom "babys" me and my stepdad gets sick of it. He's right, I'm not going to make my own choices or learn from my mistakes without making them myself.
