"Once i was seven years old, my father told me, go get yourself a wife or you'll be lonely," I sang in the shower while lathering my hair.
Today Shawn and I were going out to a lunch together. He asked me to go last night before I went to bed, and I told him I would love too. We were going to leave in a few hours.
I stopped the water and grabbed a towel. I patted myself dry before stepping out into my room. I threw on some jean shorts and a flowy maroon tank top. I was thanking the gods that my bruises on my shoulder and thigh had healed. I was burning up wearing these long clothes in the heat of he summer. I walked over to the mirror and put on concealer, like usual. Why couldn't Jeffery punch me anywhere else besides my face? He couldn't have kicked my sides again? Those bruises are a heck of a lot easier to cover. I examined the black, blue, and purple tones on my face and noticed they weren't going away at all.
"Great," I sighed to myself.
I blow dried my hair and put it into two French braids. I loved wearing my hair like this, and I would fix it this way for school more often if it didn't take so long. I put on my black converse and sat down, getting on twitter.

                                 ••••
"Ready to go?" Shawn knocked on my door. I hopped up from my bed, where I had been laying for the past 30 minutes, and swung the door open. He was also wearing a maroon tank top, but he was wearing khaki shorts. I just looked at him and laughed.
"Well one of us is going to have to change,"
"No, I like twinning with you," he said with a goofy smile.
"Alright, twining it is," I smiled at him.
We walked downstairs.

"Hey mom, can you take a picture of us?" He asked his mom.
"Of course!" She said, getting off the couch.
"Here let's pretend to be mad at each other," I told him. He laughed, but went along with it.
We both crossed our arms and "glared" at each other, but you could tell it was fake.
"Ok, now a normal one," his mom said. We nodded and Shawn wrapped his arm around my waist and I put my hand on my hip. It was a super cute pose.
"Got it," his mom told us.
"Great, thanks mom! We will be back later," he kissed his mom on the check as she handed back his phone.
"Be safe! Remember seat belts!" She yelled at us as we walked out the door.
"I love your mom, she's sweet," I told him as we walked to the cars.
"I know, I love her," he smiled.
"Which one are we taking?" I asked, referring to the three vehicles in front of us.
"The black jeep. It's the only one with tinted windows, which is essential if you don't want to get chased down the street," he informed me.
"Good to know," I giggled. I got in the passenger side and he got in the drivers side.
"Where would you like to go?" He asked me.
"I have never been to Canada before, and I have no idea what they have here," I shrugged. "Maybe we could go to a local diner or something,"
"I'll see what I can do," he said and winked at me. I had to look out the window to hide my face blushing.

"We're here!" He announced. We were at a little pub, and it looked like we were the only ones here.
We got out of the car and walked in, where a nice lady greeted us. She had a deep southern accent.
"Welcome to Kay's!" She said. "How many tonight?"
"Two," I told her. She grabbed two menus and lead us to our table.
"Adam will be with you shortly,"
"Thank you," Shawn and I both murmured as we climbed into the booth.
"Have you ever been here before?" I asked, scanning the menu.
"Only once, but I was little," he told me.
We looked at the menu for a bit, and I decided to get a cheeseburger and fries. He got grilled chicken.
"It will be out shortly," our waiter, Adam, told us.
"Do you mind if I post that picture on Instagram?"
"Oh no, not at all!" I exclaimed.
"What's your Instagram? I'll tag you,"
"I don't have one," I shook my head.
"What! How do you not have an insta?" He asked, in shock.
"Well I've just never really got one," I shrugged. The real reason was because it was a well known social media, and if I were to promote my videos on there, then people from school might find my Youtube a lot easier. It was too risky.
"Well, when we get home we're going to have to change that!"
"Ok, it'll be fun," I laughed.
Our food came and we ate, creating small talk in between bites.

It was nice just being with him. We didn't have to force conversation or sit in awkward silence. It all came so naturally when I was around him, and its never been like that with anyone.

A/N: sorry for the short filler chapter 😬
